ANTONICELLO UNOPPOSED IN REELECTION TO A RECORD 11TH TERM AS NA DEMOCRATIC MUNICIPAL LEADER!

Nicholas Antonicello, a retired school employee, labor leader, carpenter and building official will lead the North Arlington Democratic Party for the next two years.

Antonicello, a resident of North Arlington since 1976 is a retired carpenter and supervisor with the Jersey City Board of Education and past president of Local 2262 of the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) of the AFL-CIO.

Previously Antonicello was employed by the American Can Company and was a union official with the United Steelworkers of America.

A veteran of the United States Army and past Commander of the Lyndhurst AMVETS, Antonicello served with 1988 Democratic Presidential candidate Michael Dukakis, the former governor of Massachusetts.

A former Deputy Surrogate and Surrogate of Hudson County, Antonicello also served as a Commissioner on the Jersey City Incinerator Authority and Bergen County Utilities Authority.

Antonicello has served North Arlington in various capacities as President of the Library Board, Chairman of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment as well as Secretary to the North Arlington/Lyndhurst Joint Sewer Board.

Antonicello currently serves in a part-time capacity with the New Jersey Senate and is a member of the executive board of the Bergen County Democratic Committee.

Antonicello appointed Councilwoman Jean Williams as Vice-Chair and former Mayor Russ Pitman as secretary. Former Mayor and 2018 council candidate Pete Massa was appointed to one of two vacancies on the 20-member body.

“I’m pleased to serve the Democratic Party again and I’m thrilled we have assembled a truly educated and qualified team of candidates that will run and engage the voters with a memorable and issue oriented effort,” said the Chairman to the delight of those assembled Thursday evening at the North Arlington Diner.

All three candidates addressed the municipal committee and you can feel the winning atmosphere by the tone and spirit resonated by Yampaglia, Massa and Papile.

“Public service is important in giving back and helping others. My Dad was a judge and ran for mayor as well. I am humbled by the continuing support and confidence displayed in me by all of you,” offered Councilman Mark Yampaglia.
