North Arlington – Democratic Councilman Mark Yampaglia (D) continued his quest this weekend for support as he finished walking all of the lower portions of Schuyler Avenue with running-mate Josie Papile this Saturday afternoon as he challenges incumbent NA Mayor Joe Bianchi(R).

“Walking for me tells me what people are thinking and that’s critical in formulating a message that voters will support. I want their input because I want to be a Mayor that reacts to citizen interaction. We live in a digital world and residents have many venues to express themselves online and through Social Media. My walking and knocking on doors allows them to be a part of my campaign and agenda,” offered Yampaglia.

At this point Yampaglia believes he has walked between 15 and 20% of the community.

“There’s plenty of work and walking to do this summer,” noted the mayoral hopeful.

What are the other candidates doing?
Mark Yampaglia include NA voters in his campaign and agenda.
“You’ll have to ask them. I know what this campaign needs to do and I’m trying to lead by example. Josie and Pete are great running-mates and this is a holiday weekend of sorts so whatever houses we can hit will be critical in reaching our goal of trying to walk the entire town twice.”

How’s the reaction?

“Pretty good, many people are away and those who come to the door have specific issues and like the conversations we have because they are about what they care about,” said the candidate.

Yampaglia noted he manned his booth at the Post Office this morning and was greeted by former Mayor Russ Pitman.

“Russ gives great advice and he always stresses the need to meet voters all of the time. Mayor Pitman has been a great source of knowledge for me as well as the ticket. We’re all working hard for a victory. The Democrats are really unified and our recent fundraiser proved that to be true,” acknowledged Yampaglia.

The four-term councilman has the support of three former Democratic Mayors in Ed Martone, Russ Pitman and Peter Massa, who is running for a council seat this year with Team Yampaglia.
