Under the Republicans, hundreds of new apartment units were approved along Ridge Road with more to come on the Belleville Turnpike, River Road and Schuyler Avenue.
There is a debate going on if North Arlington should continue this massive overdevelopment of Ridge Road which has resulted in a spike in traffic, density and a decrease in residential street parking.
The challengers in the race, John Balwierczak and John Yampaglia are calling for a curfew of additional apartments along Ridge Road, permit parking for residents and a renewed partnership with local businesses that preserve the longtime quality of life of the community that keeps North Arlington small, safe and suburban.
The election is Tuesday, November 5th and ballots have been mailed out.
