BALWIERCZAK, YAMPAGLIA BACK AT THE NA POST OFFICE WITHOUT INCIDENT SATURDAY MORNING!

With just 10 days to go, Democrats greet warm wisher’s as they mail-in ballots.

Massive overdevelopment and rising property taxes have residents seeking change come November 5th

Meet Balwierczak and Yampaglia October 30th at the Arlington Diner at 7 PM – Light refreshments to be served.

NORTH ARLINGTON – Democrats returned to the scene of the so-called crime Saturday morning without incident as they greeted residents who were mailing ballots and wishing the ticket of John Balwierczak and John Yampaglia well in this battle too bring back responsible two-party government to the borough and stop the massive overdevelopment and high property taxes engineered by embedded incumbents Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy, who have not had a serious campaign in a decade.

Last week two squad cars were apparently sent to the post office about alleged complaints, a place the Democrats have tabled and campaigned for decades as Dan Pronti was seen by those tabling passing at least twice during this mild fracas.

Democrats commended the NA Police Chief for mediating the incident and stopping by to end things cordially.

With Fitzhenry and Sheedy refusing to campaign or even comment on their efforts to urbanize North Arlington into an extension of Belleville or Hudson County, take your pick, both incumbents have been puppets to Mayor Dan Pronti as they both voted “yes” for every new apartment currently constructed on Ridge Road with hundreds more scheduled for the Belleville Pike, River Road and Schuyler Avenue.

Both Fitzhenry and Sheedy are responsible for the construction of hundreds of units along Ridge Road with more to come in 2025, and that does not include the fate of MELRAYS, Boston Market and the Italian Villa, all empty and dormant with the Italian Villa apparently scheduled for demolition for 24-bedroom units and parking spaces that was described in 2021 as “too tall and too big,” under public comment at a meeting of the North Arlington Planning Board.

In an unprecedented backlash to all these apartment dwellings no one wants or asked for, many longtime NA residents compare it to the Donald Trump inspired EnCap housing debacle, that saw local Republicans like Fitzhenry and his council colleague Kirk Del Russo support over 1,500 units of new housing in the Meadowlands until Democrats step forward and stopped that attempt to destroy North Arlington’s unique suburban charm.

Del Russo, like Mayor Dan Pronti is a real estate agent who supports this unprecedented wave of apartment dwellings now in the hundreds. Del Russo voted “yes” to endorse EnCap as a member of the now defunct, North Arlington Redevelopment Agency. The EnCap scam of landfills to golf courses collapsed under it’s own weight as the housing scheme fell apart under further scrutiny by state officials.

The local Republican Party and campaign of Fitzhenry and Sheedy is being fueled by out-of-town developers, builders, contractors, and others all committed to the urbanization of North Arlington.

According to campaign filings with the state’s Election Law Enforcement Commission or ELEC, here is a sampling of those who are contributing to the Republicans as engineered and solicited by Pronti:

Guzzo Architects – $2,000

INSYNC – $1,000

Alpha Dog Solutions (Owned by Belleville Mayor Michael Melham) – $2,000

De Grace Plumbing – $1,000

J Keane Electric – $1,000

Randy Pearce (Borough Attorney) – $2,000

Bruno Associates – $2,000

Robert Ceberio (Redevelopment Consultant & active Republican) – $2,000

Anthony Frisina – $2,000

DS Properties – $1,000

FS Consulting – $1,000

Matt Gilson (Attorney representing senior housing applicant, active Republican) – $1,000

“These are the out-of-town financial contributors that do not subscribe to the notion that North Arlington remain small, safe and suburban. That North Arlington no longer be the gateway to Bergen County. It is this unbridled consumption of campaign dollars from special interests who endorse the notion of North Arlington remaining a political monopoly with Dan Pronti in charge,” offered candidate John Balwierczak.

NA Democrats have not accepted any contributions from those involved in development projects with North Arlington.

“Residents are tired of this failed status quo. Dan Pronti is a real estate agent first and an elected official last. Pronti and his political puppets are in bed with these out-of-town real estate interests and all you need to do is take a stroll down Ridge Road and see what has occurred. With these people in charge, what will happen to the MELRAYS property? Boston Market? Italian Villa? All are empty and dormant as Ridge Road has become a shell of itself thanks to the “yes” votes of Fitzhenry and Sheedy. They speak for the developers. But who speaks for North Arlington? This could be North Arlington’s last chance to reverse this course and retain our mass, scale and character. To keep North Arlington small, safe and suburban,” offered both Balwierczak and Yampaglia.

With just over a week until election day, Balwierczak and Yampaglia have been campaigning for over a year and intend to finish canvassing the entire community for a fourth time, having secured hundreds of sign locations and support from the many new residents of North Arlington.

“We urge all supportive residents of our campaign to join us Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00 pm at the Arlington Diner for light refreshments and join this effort to stop overdevelopment and keep North Arlington small, safe and suburban.”
