BALWIERCZAK, YAMPAGLIA BIG HIT WITH NA SENIORS!
Longtime residents oppose plethora of construction on Ridge Road, seek tax relief, not 40 “shoe box” apartments at 650 square feet per unit!
Democrats hammer away at massive overdevelopment, higher property taxes as Fitzhenry & Sheedy remain mum!
Incumbents are pawns and puppets of Pronti, the real estate agent mayor who didn’t see an apartment housing scheme he doesn’t support!
NORTH ARLINGTON – A motivated and energetic John Balwierczak and his running-mate John Yampaglia worked the room today as they visited with North Arlington seniors tired of the gentrification policies of Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy, who after a decade in office are rolling out a phony senior housing scheme just days before the election.
“Seniors do not support what is going on here in the community. They oppose this massive overdevelopment of Ridge Road and they believe these policies are pushing them out of North Arlington. Nobody believes gentrification and urbanization is solving the problems of NA,” offered Democrat John Balwierczak who was warmly greeted by about 150 or so residents Tuesday morning.
Balwierczak was confident that this room of seniors wanted a voice for them on the North Arlington Borough Council.
“Who has the back of seniors and longtime residents? Not this crew of massive overdevelopment enthusiasts who are destroying the notion that North Arlington is the gateway to Bergen County. That North Arlington remain small, safe and suburban,” replied candidates Balwierczak and Yampaglia.
“People want to remain in their homes. They like the security and satisfaction of living in a house they own. What they seek is tax relief and they oppose the plethora of properties being built at a rapid pace. No one believes this half-baked plan with no details or specifics being promoted by the campaign donors of our opponents is either legitimate or credible. And as usual, it is Pronti the real estate agent whaling away for this senseless proposal while his two pawns in Fitzhenry and Sheedy say nothing,” offered the Chestnut Street resident.
Democrats accused both Fitzhenry and Sheedy abdicating their roles as council members, and just becoming “yes” votes for Pronti, a full-time real estate agent who has engineered the full scale overdevelopment of Ridge Road with more on the way at the Belleville Pike, Schuyler Avenue, and River Road.
“Who are we running against? Has anyone told Dan Pronti his name is not on the ballot? Are the incumbents up to speaking for themselves? Are they even allowed to utter a word not stuffed in their collective mouths by our real estate agent Mayor? This is why we need responsible two-party government. Give us a seat at the table so we can be the true voice of the majority of residents who are not MAGA Republicans,” offered the Democrats
MELRAYS, BOSTON MARKET AND ITALIAN VILLA. WHAT’S NEXT FOR NA?
With three of the biggest parcels on Ridge Road dormant and empty, where is the plan to restore and renovate North Arlington under Pronti, Fitzhenry and Sheedy?
“There is none. Just build baby build! This obvious threat to keeping North Arlington small, safe and suburban is a full-fledged attack on our community values. Fitzhenry and Sheedy offer North Arlington nothing. No ideas or proposals, just a straight “yes” vote to whatever Pronti wants, Pronti gets! It is 7-0, an all-Republican monopoly dedicated to destroying a vibrant two-party system at the local level where people have choices and a dialogue. Pronti is a political dictator who has six votes in his pocket at all times. Since he has been Mayor, there has not been a single council member that has disagreed with him on a single roll call vote. How does anyone agree with someone 100% of the time? It is embarrassing to say the least but as long as Fitzhenry and Sheedy get paid to attend one meeting a month, they could care less, They lack the courage to stand-up for themselves or the people,” offered Balwierczak.
