Candidate John Balwierczak worked as a delivery boy, scrubbed floors as a teenager at this popular pizza parlor!

NORTH ARLINGTON – One of the core principles of council candidate John Balwierczak is hard work.

“I might not be the smartest individual, but I work hard and I’m dependable. If I say I am going to do something, I’ll work twice as hard to ensure I get it right,” offered the first-time candidate.

Known for their Chicken Marsala as well as a great pie, Balwierczak was employed by Arlington Pizza which is located at Arlington Plaza, at 25 Schuyler Avenue

For hard work is of the essence of the Balwierczak candidacy for Borough Council.

Campaigning for over a year, the first-time hopeful gathered over 300 signatures to secure his name on the June Democratic Primary ballot, the most of any municipal candidate in all of Bergen County!

To put this in perspective, the Democratic candidates in neighboring Bloomfield secured 700 signatures for a community with nearly 60,000 residents while North Arlington has a population of just over 16,000.

As a varsity basketball player for North Arlington High School, John concentrated on his defense because he believed it could best help his team win.

“I’m all about contributing to a team win, a team effort. That’s how I will govern. It’s all about North Arlington. Doing what is best for residents. I’m concerned about results and I’m not too concerned who gets the credit. There is no “I” in the word “we,” offered the first-time candidate and former Republican.

John has fond memories of his time with Arlington Pizza.

“The value of hard work, being on time and reliable were formulated there. As we hit the final weeks of the campaign, I wanted people to know I will give 100% of my time and efforts. I am committed to public service and I won’t let North Arlington down,” said Balwierczak who is running with John Yampaglia who resides on Melrose Avenue.
