IS THE NA BOARD OF EDUCATION “TYRANNICAL OR CONFRONTATIONAL?” PRONTI’S HAND-PICKED TICKET GOES ON THE ATTACK?
NORTH ARLINGTON – A Republican backed ticket for the Board of Education has already gone on the attack, inferring the current members are “tyrannical” and “confrontational” in this quest to wrest control from this independent body of non-partisan volunteers.
In viewing the “Matvienko and Graci for BOE” page, it is seemingly being authored by the same folks who write for the North Arlington Republican Club or Mayor Dan Pronti’s page online.
The writing styles and coordination of message is obvious!
Claiming to be “compassionate” and having “a sense of community,” are they suggesting those currently serving do not?
George McDermott, a longtime volunteer, borough employee and board trustee was recently named “EMT of the Year,” and he is seen here with Councilman Brian Fitzhenry who has endorsed the Republican challengers as well.
Is Fitzhenry this cynical and partisan?
Does anyone believe George McDermott is tyrannical or confrontational?
His long body of service to the community is apparent and obvious.
In 2004 McDermott made a bid for council running as an independent and received some 800 votes. An election that Fitzhenrey was easily disposed of in his first attempt for borough council.
For these challengers seem to have little grasp or understanding of the role of a school trustee, as they claim students and curriculum should be a priority.
Are students not a priority currently?
What are they talking about?
The curriculum being instructed was approved by the current board or the incumbents.
It’s obvious this is a “single-issue” effort with eminent domain seizure the political wedge issue they plan to exploit!
But both sides are now back at the table.
Eminent domain seizure is no longer in play.
For what is the reason to elect these partisan candidates that have no real educational background or purpose, with the exception of the full support of the Republican Party that wants to consolidate every aspect of North Arlington governance in the hands of Dan Pronti?
Is this ticket going to cut school taxes?
Lower spending?
Is the current Board of Education “over taxing” residents?
Even within the confines of a 2% percent mandated cap?
Where exactly do they disagree with incumbents Scott Hughes and Michele Higgins on the issues of education and the delivery of those services?
Will they take their orders from Pronti and Republican Party?
Probably so.
For they are the people running, managing and organizing the campaign against Hughes & Higgins.
Only BOE employee Allison Sheedy, who is also a council member, did not sign the petitions.
Republicans Dan Pronti, Brian Fitzhenry, Mario Karcic, Kirk Del Russo and Amanda DeCicco all signed the petitions against the incumbents and Councilwoman Donna Bocchino notarized the same.
See the petitions here: BOE
Are they going to deny that as well?
Maybe a debate between the incumbents and these partisan challengers would be an interesting forum as to what is really happening in this race for two board seats.
Partisan takeover by the local Republicans.
It is undeniable.
Does anyone really want Boss Pronti controlling every aspect of North Arlington government?
Do taxpayers want the Board of Education to become a patronage mill for the GOP?
Matvienko and Graci are two more political puppets that will be controlled by Pronti.
Pronti currently has six puppets, now he wants two more or eight in total.
It would be laughable if not so embarrassing.
Time to wake up in North Arlington!
A hostile takeover of public education is occurring led by Dan Pronti.
What me worry?
