Lifelong North Arlington resident and true local John Yampaglia joins his father & brother in his bid for local office!

The Yampaglia brand has appeared on the ballot in 1990, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2018 and 2019!

Member of NA Planning Board

The son of a former North Arlington Municipal Judge, the brother of a former four-term councilman and local attorney, Planning Board Member John Yampaglia continues the tradition of public service in a bipartisan basis as he seeks a seat on the Mayor and Council with another local, Tommy Bradley!

Committed to the notion of keeping North Arlington small, safe and suburban, John will continue his service as a “bipartisan problem solver” that wants to control growth and maintain North Arlington’s small town character.

“I want to follow in the footsteps of my Dad as well as my brother. I want to continue the commitment of former Mayors Kaiser, Pitman, Massa and Bianchi in retaining and sustaining our small, safe and suburban status as an alternative to the urbanization of a Harrison or Hudson County,” offered Yampaglia.

John at work before the pandemic

A former instructor at the Capri Institute of Hair Design, John feels his diverse background as an educator and private businessman is the right fit for homeowners in this worldwide pandemic.

“I’m personally feeling the pain of this global pandemic. My business is closed and my employees want to return to work. Hopefully the worst is behind us and we can get back to the notion of reopening the economy and I support both President Trump as well as Governor Murphy in reaching that important objective. We’re in this together and we will only get out of this together,” said Yampaglia.

“While I’m a Democrat, like my brother I am a bipartisan in my approach to governance. I have friends who serve on the council who are of the other party and I want to put North Arlington first in every decision I make. It’s all about the success and future of North Arlington,” offered the first-time candidate.

“I’m proud to run with Tom Bradley. He is a highly qualified and competent candidate who is a leader in every sense of the word. Like me he has lived here his entire life and his roots are long and strong. We played in the very recreational programs we will be charged to support and fund. We played little league, basketball and touch football. We both attended local schools. For us, this is just an extension of whom we are as people.”

John resides on Melrose Avenue and believes North Arlington needs a healthy mix of Democrats and Republicans on the Mayor and Council.

“Democrats outnumber Republicans so it’s only fair we have a say in how the community is managed. I want to follow on many of the initiatives of Len Kaiser, Russ Pitman, Pete Massa and the late Joe Bianchi. Tom and I are in agreement that while we’re Democrats, we will do what is best for North Arlington in every decision we make and that’s opposing urbanization and keeping the community small, safe and suburban.”
