MEET THE CANDIDATES AT THE NORTH ARLINGTON POST OFFICE EVERY SATURDAY!
MASSIVE OVERDEVELOPMENT BY FITZHENRY & SHEEDY HAS NA RESIDENTS ENRAGED!
LET’S KEEP NA SMALL, SAFE AND SUBURBAN – BALWIERCZAK & YAMPAGLIA FOR BOROUGH COUNCIL.
NORTH ARLINGTON – With just days before the November 5th election, NA Democrats are optimistic as residents wish the council challengers good luck at their table located at the Post Office every Saturday between 9 AM and 12 noon, located at Ridge Park Drive.
“The reaction has been tremendous. There is just one issue and that’s massive overdevelopment coupled with higher property taxes we all feel. The incumbents have virtually stopped campaigning, Fitzhenry is completely disengaged and Pronti is trying to pick up the slack. The bottom-line is that no one wants all these apartments on Ridge Road. It is Pronti, Fitzhenry and Sheedy who created this mess. Urbanization has no place in North Arlington. Increasing traffic, decreasing parking and raising taxes all at the same time is not a good look,” offered candidate John Balwierczak.
THE SENIOR HOUSING FLOP!
The Republicans tried to divert and change the subject on some phony senior housing proposal the public universally rejects. What they do want is property tax relief and the end of this mass construction of apartment dwellings along Ridge Road with more to come on the Belleville Turnpike, River Road and Schuyler Avenue.
According to sources, there were few in attendance and the presentation caused more questions than answers.
NA Today learned that even some borough officials in attendance were apparently confused by what was being presented and stated!
According to sources, they found the entire meeting as unproductive.
Now their mindless supporters are describing it as free!
Free senior housing?
Please explain!
“This was their failed October surprise. Promising senior housing again for the hundredth time since 1978. The same old nonsense. Now presenting it as no cost to taxpayers and no one is buying it,” offered the council hopefuls.
“How is 50 units going to satisfy the need of thousands of seniors? The whole premise is ridiculous. It is another tired old campaign promise that does not address affordability. It is the overdevelopment that is driving seniors out of North Arlington. It is mass gentrification and urbanization that is causing seniors to move out. This proposal is laughable and the seniors themselves know it too,” observed the candidates.
MELRAYS, BOSTON MARKET & ITALIAN VILLA UPDATE:
What is the status of MELRAYS? Vague answers as to what is actually being proposed! Boston Market? Nothing. The Italian Villa? Is it being torn down and when? As always, little to report!
BALWIERCZAK & YAMPAGLIA CALL FOR MORATORIUM ON APARTMENTS NOW!
Democrats have made it clear they will demand an immediate moratorium on all new apartment construction and call for a comprehensive parking study and survey to end the congestion and lack of residential street parking to solve the current crisis.
“This is what North Arlington is really talking about,” said the candidates.
“Residents want to retain our suburban character. They want an end to the house invasions and break-in’s. They want to be able to park in front of their homes. They want Ridge Road to be congestion free. The Republicans have given a blank check to out-of-town developers, builders and consultants who are obsessed with urbanizing North Arlington into an extension of Hudson County. They want to profit off the backs of our residents and let the community be damned. We are the North Arlington First team and our slogan is simple. To keep NA small, safe and suburban. To protect our schools from larger class sizes and retain the quality-of-life concerns that make us the gateway of Bergen County, not an extension to Hudson or Essex counties.”
