MORE CONSTRUCTION, MORE DENSITY = CONTINUED REPUBLICAN OVERDEVELOPMENT!
FITZHENERY & SHEEDY “BOLD AND BRAZEN” WITH EVEN MORE HOUSING SCHEDULED FOR SCHUYLER AVENUE!
MORE CONSTRUCTION, MORE DENSITY = CONTINUED REPUBLICAN OVERDEVELOPMENT!
RESIDENTS BE DAMNED: THIS IS THEIR TOWN AND YOU JUST LIVE HERE!
NORTH ARLINGTON – The chat online has gone ballistic as longtime local residents are complaining about higher property taxes now reaching the economic stratosphere while all this overdevelopment is creating a traffic nightmare for most and increased property taxes for all!
The FACEBOOK criticisms (seen here) are evident and obvious from average residents who oppose this urbanization of North Arlington as there seems to be no end in sight anytime soon as long as the overdevelopment team of Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy remain in office!
Here is just a sampling of resident feedback when they learn about another apartment project or proposal rubber stamped by the all-GOP Planning Board who approves everything and anything they review.
For the question is now obvious, who do they represent?
The special interest or the public’s interest?
And when will Fitz or Sheedy say anything except “yes” to these disastrous planning policies?
Here is a sampling from this thread:
“It routinely takes me 15 minutes to go from Canterbury to the Pike on Schuyler.”
Some homeowners are paying $10,000, $13,000 and as high as $19,000 in property taxes while the added density and population are transforming NA into an extension of Hudson County.
And some residents are finally figuring out that the size and scope of municipal spending is out-of-control as North Arlington still remains one of the highest taxed communities in all of Bergen County!
And the fundamental question remains unanswered, why build hundreds of apartments in one of the most densely populated communities in South Bergen?
Why construct more when the end result is still higher taxes?
“Added assessments is not equating to stabilized property taxes, quite the opposite, offered Democrats John Yampaglia and John Balwierczak who are running under the slogan of keeping NA small, safe and suburban.
“All of this added population growth will cause class sizes to increase, which then means higher school taxes as well! But this is the record of Brian Fitzhenry. He raised school taxes nine consecutive times while test scores virtually remained the same. His failed practices and policies at the North Arlington Board of Education are now in full view as a council member,” observed candidate John Balwierczak, a graduate of North Arlington High School and strong supporter of public education as well as his running-mate, John Yampaglia, who also graduated from NAHS.
For the explosion of housing on Ridge Road, now metastasizing to Schuyler Avenue, the Belleville Pike and River Road has residents sick and tired of being sick and tired.
“There isn’t a single member of the Planning Board or Mayor and Council that puts North Arlington first. Making out-of-town real estate interests fat and happy is not progress or some phony renaissance as proclaimed by these fakers controlling every aspect of local government. For what more evidence do you need that this urbanization and density will only add to the cost of municipal services and a spike in crime because we are not a city and was not built to become one,” observed the Democrats.
‘”These people have been running things uncontested for a decade. We need to end this monopoly and bring back responsible two-party government, and unless they lose this election, things will only get worse,” commented Balwierczak.
“They will say anything to hang on to power. They hate the fact we have exposed the truth and the truth is they hate the notion of remaining small, safe and suburban. The time for change is now or never. The political intimidation and personal attacks are too much for most individuals to absorb. They hate me and will do or say anything to stop me,” charged the candidate.
