NORTH ARLINGTON DEMOCRATIC COUNTY COMMITTEE TO MEET FEBRUARY 27TH AT ARLINGTON DINER, 7PM
The North Arlington Democratic Municipal Committee will meet on Wednesday, February 27th at the Arlington Diner beginning at 7PM according to local Democratic leader and Municipal Chairman Nick Antonicello.
The committee will be meeting to discuss the recruitment of candidates for borough council as well as filling vacancies on the committee that currently exist. The committee will also discuss the upcoming legislative races for the New Jersey General Assembly where incumbents Gary Schaer of Passaic City and Clinton Calabrese will be seeking reelection come November.
Calabrese, the grandson of the iconic Cliffside Park mayor and Bergen County freeholder Gerald Calabrese was appointed to the legislature last year to fill the vacancy of Marlene Carride who took a position in the cabinet of New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.
The committee will also discuss this year’s freeholder contest and county convention to be held in March.
There will be three seats on the ballot for borough council and one will be for the unexpired term of Mayor Dan Pronti that was temporarily filled by Councilman Kirk Del Russo.
Del Russo has unsuccessfully ran for the council in 2011 losing to incumbent Councilman Mark Yampaglia who is expected to run for a fifth term.
