NA PARKING AND TRAFFIC OUT OF CONTROL!
Democrat John Balwierczak calls for a comprehensive traffic study to address this longstanding concern of residents!
Overdevelopment means increased traffic and now higher property taxes for homeowners!
NORTH ARLINGTON – Be it lost residential street parking due to the rampant overdevelopment policies of incumbents Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy, Democratic council candidate John Balwierczak said today that both traffic and parking must be seriously evaluated by experts to address this longstanding issue with voters.
Balwierczak, who is running for office for the first time with JohnYampaglia believes the current overdevelopment policies of the incumbents is playing a role in the further increase in congestion, especially around these new apartment dwellings along Ridge Road.
“Traffic is increasing and available street parking is diminishing, and the primary culprit is the overdevelopment of Ridge Road,” observed Balwierczak, a life-long resident and graduate of North Arlington High School who has personally witnessed the spike in traffic and new density and congestion due to what he described as obvious “urbanization that is killing our community values of remaining small, safe and suburban.”
Balwierczak, a former Republican who left the party because of the overdevelopment practices of Mayor Dan Pronti, and his hand-picked council candidates Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy, attributed the traffic and lack of parking directly at the feet of the three GOP incumbents.
“Photos don’t lie. I took these pictures on October 4th. If I wanted to live in an urban environment like Belleville I would pack my bags and go. Trying to turn North Arlington into a city is a nightmare most residents oppose. Only Pronti and his political puppets think this density and traffic makes sense,” offered the challenger.
“We need a comprehensive traffic study on how this overdevelopment is fundamentally changing the community. These photos suggest an ever increasing problem that has been spun out of control by this unrestricted construction of apartment dwellings in the hundreds with more to come. This path to becoming a city is unacceptable and needs to be stopped. We ask voters to give us a chance so that North Arlington can remain small, safe and suburban.”
Meet the candidates this Saturday at the North Arlington Post Office from 9am to 12 noon located at Ridge Park Drive.
