Balwierczak, a life-long resident of the community and graduate of North Arlington High School where he played varsity basketball for the Vikings was humbled by the endorsement.
“This endorsement is a recognition of the commitment and hard work put into this grass roots campaign. John and I are the North Arlington First Team. We are committed to the proposition of protecting our small class sizes and the notion NA remain small, safe and suburban. We reject the overdevelopment practices of the incumbents as well as their outrageous tax hike that is a detriment to seniors and working families. We reject the density, increase in traffic and decrease in residential street parking all over North Arlington. We need to restore responsible two-party government and end this monopoly of all Republicans all of the time,” offered Balwierczak, a Chestnut Street resident.
Meet the Democrats any Saturday between now and Election Day from 9am to 12pm at the North Arlington Post Office located at Ridge Park Drive. To join the campaign, contact (201) 655-8497. You can register to vote, fill out a community survey or pick-up a sign for your lawn or window.
Local Democrats are trying to break the all-Republican Mayor and Council with a win for the first time since 2016.
No Democrat has served on the governing body since 2019. The Democrats are running under the slogan of keeping North Arlington small, safe and suburban. The Republicans have recklessly voted to construct hundreds of apartments along Ridge Road with hundreds more to come as this plague is now metastasizing to Schuyler Avenue, the Belleville Turnpike and River Road.
