NORTH ARLINGTON DEMOCRATIC CHAIRMAN TO HOST FUNDRAISER FOR NA COUNCIL HOPEFULS
Candidates Balwierczak and Sever challenge all-Republican status quo, seek to break-up GOP 7-0 majority!
NORTH ARLINGTON – Paul Juliano, the longtime chairman of the Bergen County Democratic Committee will be hosting a fundraiser honoring local council candidates John Balwierczak and Cengiz “Jim” Sever on Wednesday, May 28th at the Arlington Diner located at 1 River Road beginning at 7:00 PM.
Tickets are $100 per person and $1,000 per table.
To RSVP, please contact Democratic Municipal Chairman Nick Antonicello at (201) 937-4277 or via e-mail at [email protected].
The Democrats are opposing real estate agent and longtime Encap apologist Kirk Del Russo, who was the one of the earliest supporters of the failed housing scheme known as Arlington Valley, that would have constructed some 1,700 units of housing in the Meadowlands that would have shutdown Porete Avenue as we know it and ended any notion of the Federal Express facility coming to the community.
Known locally as “Mr. EnCap,” Del Russo is a real estate agent an avid supporter of the massive overdevelopment taking place on Ridge Road today.
North Arlington Democrats John Balwierczak and Jim Sever are offering the following platform to retain North Arlington as a small, safe and suburban community:
– The elimination of rolling tax assessments endorsed by Del Russo to protect homeowners, especially seniors, from higher property taxes.
– The renovation and restoration of the Passaic Riverfront with a walking and bike path that would connect the Arlington Diner to Riverside County Park in cooperation with the County of Bergen.
– The elimination of all metered parking, the construction of bike lanes and an immediate moratorium on any new construction along Ridge Road.
– The formulation of a seasonal Farmer’s Market professionally managed at a desirable location from Memorial Day to Halloween which could yield hundreds of thousands of dollars in new revenue.
– The construction of a Youth Center for children between the ages of 7 to 17 that would be paid for by municipal surplus funding.
– No more raises for part-time elected office holders for attending one (1) meeting per month.
