Quality of Life Officer seconds as Second VP of NA Republican Club!
Local Republicans make no bones about it; they want no Democrats on the Mayor and Council!
There are not happy with just the majority, they want to eliminate responsible two-party government (see letter at the end)!
James Bocchino, the controversial “Quality of Life” Officer and two-time loser for Borough Council is at it again actively soliciting campaign donations for his daughter’s campaign in an attempt to squash any Democratic voice on the Governing Body and Mayor Dan Pronti is in lock step endorsement of this threat to our democracy here in North Arlington.
Despite the fact there are nearly a 1000 more Democrats than Republicans, Pronti and Bocchino are planning the demise of local Democrats with unprecedented fundraising by the local GOP!
Why are they so afraid of a Democratic voice on the Mayor and Council?
What is it that they want to do they can’t do already with their 4-2 majority?
This letter clearly demonstrates the intentions of local Republicans: eliminate Democrats so they acquire Jersey City, Machine Style dominance of North Arlington’s municipal government.
They want to do what they want with no one looking over their shoulder and they want to close the curtain on local government to homeowner’s concerned about rising Property Taxes in NA!
Here comes the new Boss, same as the old one!
North Arlington has become a political island of sorts under local Republicans, out of step with county, state and federal contacts where Pronti lacks any serious allies or relationships. Pronti even refuses to work with our popular Freeholder Steve Tanelli, who he sees as a threat and not a friend to North Arlington despite a record of accomplishment and pouring millions into the upgrades we see at County Riverside Park.
This freshman Mayor is really like a big fish in a small bowl, with no ability to work with those players across the political aisle.
So he is ignored and North Arlington suffers.
Instead, Pronti claims Property Taxes are decreasing when most homeowners are seeing steep increases and the potential of even higher taxes with the proposed renovation of QPHS recently purchased by the NA Board of Education that Pronti apparently supports based on his silence on the issue as well as his three endorsed candidates that have zero elected experience and two got their jobs through politics and the other claims to be a “volunteer” while receiving a municipal stipend of $1500 and her employer is a vendor to Pronti’s local government!
More lies.
So is our Quality of Life Officer doing any quality of life work?
When is he making these campaign solicitations?
Couldn’t this be considered “pay for play” if he is running around soliciting campaign donations for Mayor Dan and his daughter’s campaign?
How much evidence do you need that local Republicans are apparently crossing the line between government and politics and why are they so afraid that good people like Councilman Mark Yampaglia, the ranking Democrat and longest serving elected official should not be returned to office?
And why is Pronti working so hard to defeat two new faces to local government, two candidates endorsed by the New Jersey AFL-CIO?
These are questions that need to be answered by Pronti and his political ally, Mr. Bocchino!
Hudson County style politics have no place in North Arlington and this is why we need Democrats on the NA Borough Council.
