PLANNING BOARD MEMBER: VFW BUILDING NOT IN A FLOOD ZONE, JUST HALF THE LOT!
Pronti’s promises of senior housing remain further in doubt, as delays, unanswered cost questions plague the project!
Balwierczak: GOP represents broken promises, no ideas, higher taxes for NA!
NORTH ARLINGTON – The prospect of senior housing took another turn for the worse as a member of the planning board indicated that the project’s potential site is at least 50% in a flood zone!
George Rosko, a MAGA cheerleader, real estate agent and apologist for the local Republicans indicated in an online post that the VFW building is not in the flood zone, but half the lot is.
Here is the post by Rosko, a former one-term member of the North Arlington Board of Education who was pummeled when seeking a second term.
One wonders why the Republican would think this is somehow good news for those seniors who have heard this annual broken campaign promise flame out once again.
For Democrat John Balwierczak, the empty promise of senior housing has no credibility with residents.
“How many decades can you promise senior housing, never deliver and expect to be taken seriously? Anyone who has lived in NA any length of time knows that slice of River Road constantly floods. What responsible elected official would site this project in the worst possible location? My view is that the whole proposal is a joke. I have talked to veterans here in the community and they believe as I do the notion of senior housing at that location is remote, and all probability never going to occur,” observed the council challenger.
Balwierczak described local Republicans as the “big money” party that was “empty on results, ideas and solutions”. 
“Del Russo and DeCicco have no platform or agenda. They can’t even speak without Pronti chiming in. Senior housing on the Pronti watch is a political fantasy and just another reason why we need responsible two-party government to end this monopoly of political failure. They have no allies or partners at any level of government. They despise Democrats so much they have become an island like Cuba and getting things done is rare to impossible. Pronti hasn’t delivered on big project or idea unless you think massive overdevelopment of Ridge Road and its empty storefronts make sense for North Arlington,” offered both Balwierczak and Sever.
This weekend Jim Sever met Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill for governor at a campaign stop. 
Pronti even criticized the harmless photo and endorsement. 
“How small can you be? How silly can you act? Why would one criticize a mere photo? This kind of point-of-view is embarrassing. Such a partisan tone by this mayor is clearly disturbing,” offered Balwierczak.
