STOP BLOCKING THE SIDEWALK!

STOP BLOCKING THE SIDEWALK!

The rules don’t seem to apply to GOP embedded incumbents Fitzhenry & Sheedy!

NORTH ARLINGTON – So here are the facts:

John Balwierczak, the Democratic council candidate and former Republican gets a call from the Borough’s Building Department asking to remove a sign supporting his candidacy from his residence. The Building Department is headed by a longtime Republican who is a supporter of Balwierczak’s opponents, Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy. He is a handsomely paid municipal employee who earns nearly $120,000.

Balwierczak’s Mom, who had a magnetic sign on her car door promoting her son’s campaign was robbed, right in front of their residence. The candidate was forced to file a report with the NAPD.

There are at least a half-dozen Trump flags waving proudly supporting the former President, but none were contacted about displaying their political preference, a constitutionally guaranteed right.

An over-sized sign promoting GOP Sheriff candidate Robert Kugler is proudly displayed, but was the property owner called by the Building Department? No.

The North Arlington Republican Club’s dilapidated Ridge Road location, an obvious eyesore has signs in the window, but no one contacted them about that very visible location, just south of Borough Hall where the Building Department is located.

Now Fitzhenry & Sheedy have created some wood-like structure placed on the public sidewalk. Is that appropriate? Where is the Building Department when you need them? Will we see a Fitzhenry/Sheedy sign at 214 Ridge Road? The Library? How about Allan Park? The Recreation Center? How about Mary Rusignola Park along River Road or Fisher Field? Maybe they can place some signs in that lavish council chamber as well!

Signs are a good thing that promotes political discourse and democracy.

This is not about signs.

It is about when Democrats try to place a placard on private property, they get calls from Borough Hall inferring they did something wrong.

Who authorized the Building Department to call Mr. Balwierczak

The seemingly invisible Borough Administrator?

Who does the Building Department report?

The all-Republican Mayor & Council?

Why is there seemingly two sets of rules?

One of extreme silliness for Democrats and no rules at all for Republicans

And why won’t any Republican comment?

How about Fitzhenry and Sheedy?

Do they have an opinion on anything at all?

How about the rolling assessments no one supports?

What about the Tax hike approved by Fitzhenry and Sheedy? Will that piece of information be made available in that overpriced rag of a newsletter?

How about the incessant raises Fitzhenry and Sheedy have awarded themselves?

Why won’t they defend their obsession with overdevelopment of Ridge Road, the plethora of apartment dwellings with more to come?

Urbanizing a small suburban community into an extension of Kearny, Harrison or East Newark?

Losing our mantle as the gateway to Bergen County and mimicking the overdevelopment ways of Belleville in Essex County?

For these two incumbents really have nothing to say at all, they just blindly vote yes for more traffic, density and stress on essential services that has zero support!

For their actions do speak volumes as they remain completely silent, offering nothing in terms of a real vision for North Arlington.

Failing to address home invasions or auto break-in’s that have become a real concern online as many longtime residents, even supporters of these incumbents have had enough!

Do you think the incumbents would release crime statistics and the impact on the quality-of-life of average residents?

No way.

The incumbents will pivot, as they always do claiming any criticism of their inability to govern is an attack on our municipal employees and guess what, that dog no longer hunts!

Leadership and the lack of it is obvious when it comes to the record of Fitzhenry and Sheedy.

They lead from the back of the line!

There is mass miscontent within the ranks of residents and this year, voters have a real option and alternative to this failed status quo.

For the arrogance is unacceptable and the time for responsible two-party government and real change is now!

Meet both Balwierczak and Yampaglia this Saturday from 9:00 AM till noon at the North Arlington Post Office located at Ridge Park Drive.

We would tell you where you can meet Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy, but your guess is as good as ours.

Fitzhenry and Sheedy. In too long, out-of-touch and time to go!
