Six months of door to door campaigning pays off for surging Democratic challenger!
Big Crowd attends Democratic Reception on Schuyler Avenue
North Arlington mayoral candidate Mark Yampaglia, a local attorney and sitting councilman got excellent news tonight at his fundraiser where he was greeted to a full-house of supporters at La Venere Ristorante located on Schuyler Avenue.
With State Senator Paul Sarlo and Bergen County Freeholder Steve Tanelli by his side, Yampaglia received the latest internal polling figures of registered voters who intend to vote, 72% of those surveyed had a positive impression of him with a mere 5% unfavorable and 33% having no opinion or undecided.
Previous polling has Yampaglia within the margin of error, 39-36%!
Democrats were thrilled with these new results.
“Mark Yampaglia is the only mayoral candidate going door to door. Other candidates talk the talk, but they don’t walk the walk, no pun intended,” offered Democratic Chairman and campaign manager Nick Antonicello.
Over 250 households were tabulated in this survey of three-year voters.
“Tonight’s fundraiser was wildly successful and we will be fully-funded regarding our direct mail and other campaign activities. We have the attractive ticket. They are experienced, qualified and ready-to-serve. Mark has done the heavy lifting and is running the most positive campaign in memory. The fact Mark ceased all campaign activities for almost a week tells you about his character, heart and bipartisan attitudes. He is representing our brand and agenda with professionalism and distinction,” offered Antonicello.
With just 19 days to go, Democrats are optimistic and eager to get back into the street.
“I’m very proud of the campaign we have conducted. We have proven ourselves to be fiscally conservative, combating high taxes and most importantly providing solutions on how to contain future Property Tax hikes,” commented Yampaglia, a four-term councilman and attorney with an office in Rutherford.
“We’re talking bike paths, running paths, pocket parks, community gardens, ride share strategies, a renovated senior center, PILOT’s ( Payments in lieu of taxes) for hosting Holy Cross Cemetery and a slew of other good ideas that will propel our community to a new level while keeping NA small, safe and suburban.”
What about the Republican litigation regarding the ballot vacancy?
“That’s up to the court’s and County Clerk’s office to decide. We’ll support whatever they decide. My job now is to campaign, not litigate or contest the state’s election laws,” offered life-long resident and graduate of NAHS.
