An Agenda To Make North Arlington Even Better!
PRINCIPLES:
· To lead as a Bi-partisan Problem-Solver, to place Responsible Public Policy over Partisan Politics.
· To promote the “Quality-of-Life” Benefits of Residing and Working in the Borough of North Arlington.
· Keeping North Arlington Small, Safe & Suburban.
· Govern as a Fiscal Conservative.
· Build a viable vision for a Better North Arlington through stated goals and objectives that are attainable and real.
· Listen to the needs and concerns of all North Arlington Residents, to be Accessible, Open and Accountable.
· Serve as an advocate for both Homeowners and Tenants.
PRIORITIES:
· Develop a comprehensive redevelopment strategy that identifies specific opportunities for River Road, Ridge Road, Porete and Schuyler Avenues. Understand the differences and potential for each artery.
· Promote the construction of residential homes versus multiple dwelling housing which can strain parking, traffic and essential services.
· Develop a better strategy regarding parking concerns as well as snow removal and leaf collection.
· Phase out and eliminate metered parking along Ridge Road.
· Build a sustainable partnership with school officials, parents and pupils as to short-term and long-term priorities for our district. Cooperation is consistent with the goal of a unified North Arlington.
· Reform the building permit process that promotes renovation and reconstruction of both residential and commercial properties.
· Work with Freeholder Steve Tanelli and Bergen County officials to construct both a bike and walking path along the Passaic River than begins at the Arlington Diner and connects to Riverside County Park.
· Develop pocket parks, dog parks and a permanent Farmer’s Market in the Borough.
· A complete renovation of the North Arlington Senior Center and reorganization of the Municipal Complex.
· New Ride Share and Bicycle-friendly strategies along Ridge Road.
· Develop a new strategy with our area legislators to address the issue of permanent revenues in lieu of taxes for hosting the Archdiocese of Newark’s Holy Cross Cemetery.
· Build responsible municipal budgets and consider bi-annual budgeting as a way to control waste and government spending.
· Appoint both Democrats and Republicans to the community’s various volunteer boards and commissions.
