OVERDEVELOPMENT, INCREASED DENSITY & ROLLING ASSESSMENTS HAVE NA TAXPAYERS CONCERNED!

Candidates speak to residents at the point of impact, no more multiple dwellings!

NORTH ARLINGTON – Campaigning tonight had Democratic council challengers John Balwierczak and John Yampaglia sporting new campaign shirts as they heard the concerns of a community unhappy about multiple dwellings along Ridge Road and the talk of even more unbridled construction in the weeks and months to come, according to sources close to the campaign.

Sources have also indicated that the vacated Italian Villa Pizzeria is scheduled to be torn down and new rumors of an additional fifteen units of housing will be built on a parcel across the street from Charlie’s Nursery on River Road and many wonder who other than the developers and builders think this is warranted and somehow a good idea? Brian Fitzhenry?Allison Sheedy? For they are the two GOP incumbents that have approved every project and unit of rentals along Ridge Road. For they have no one to blame except for their desire to vote yes first, and ask questions later!

For door after door has become a monotonous and ongoing sea of concern and complaints by residents due to a lack of communication that is not providing details of all this new construction that will add density and traffic to the borough’s main arteries and corridors such as Ridge Road, Schuyler Avenue and River Road.“Most people believe in responsible growth that conforms with the mass, scale and character of a collection of single and two-family properties. What they don’t like is that much of the construction has come as a shock with little, if any resident or taxpayer input,” noted the candidates.

The two Democrats would be the first of their party to serve at the local level since 2020 and no Democrat has won since 2016 leaving the North Arlington Mayor & Council all-Republican, all of the time.“We need reasoned and thoughtful discussion and empathy for residents to be included, not excluded or ignored. That only divides the community,” offered the candidates.

“North Arlington is the gateway of Bergen County, the state’s most populous region of New Jersey. Its exceptional cultural, environmental and economic assets are shared by mostly suburban municipalities that stretch north to the New York border. Caring for our future and maintaining our character and remaining small and safe is important to the people we would be privileged to represent and that’s why we’re running to bring back a discussion that ends the monologue and creates a long lost dialogue between all citizens of this great place we call home,” offered candidate John Balwierczak.“We run because we choose to make North Arlington better, not busy and detached from citizen input, advice and criticism,” offered the candidates.

The deadline to sign their nominating petitions is March 23rd, and you can contact the campaign via phone or text at (201) 655-8497.
