The North Arlington Republican machine led by James “Jimmy” Bocchino, who is running the campaign with his wife as treasurer and their daughter as a council candidate is teamed with Bocchino protégé Del Russo and newcomer Cavadas, whose employer is the Borough’s Electrician.
The #1 accomplishment of this ticket seems to be the endorsement by freshman Mayor Dan Pronti, who seems obsessed with eliminating responsible two-party government and all Democrats from the Mayor and Council no matter how qualified, competent and ready to serve they truly are!
Bocchino, who was awarded this useless and non-essential position of “Quality of Life” Officer by Pronti makes no bones about how important Bocchino is to the Republican Party’s fundraising efforts after raising tens of thousands of dollars for Pronti’s 2018 mayoral campaign.
Should Del Russo and Bocchino’s daughter be successful, that would further empower the retired BCUA patronage employee and former GOP official to his previous status as a local political boss. While Pronti ignores the facts and wants people to believe Bocchino is some cheerful volunteer to the borough, the facts speak otherwise!
No reason has ever been given as to why Bocchino was hired and who made that hiring decision?
Who else was interviewed and what exactly are Bocchino’s responsibilities?
Was this job created specifically for Boss Bocchino and was this really an act of political patronage for a guy that Pronti depended upon to get elected mayor last year?
Pronti’s Puppet Ticket of Del Russo, Cavadas and Bocchino have offered no specifics or details as to what they will do except be 100% loyal to Mayor Dan Pronti.
Loyalty and politics first, government and serious public policy last?
For what are the qualifications of this ticket?
Mr. Del Russo being a stooge for EnCap, like his mentor Boss Bocchino?
Cavadas masquerades as a volunteer when she receives a $1500 year stipend from the Borough and her family’s business is the politically appointed Borough Electrician?
Since Bocchino has ran twice and lost twice for Borough Council, he resorts to running his daughter who has no resume of public service either?
The Republicans have a comfortable majority and don’t need any more seats to do whatever they want. How does a 7-0 GOP majority represent the community? Do Democrats who outnumber Republicans have a say in the operation of our municipality?
The advent of the Federal Express facility had nothing to do with Dan Pronti and that’s just a fact!
The facility was supported by then Mayor Peter Massa and brought to completion under the late Joe Bianchi.
Dan Pronti played no real role in that project.
In fact one could make the case that Councilman Mark Yampaglia played a far greater role then Mr. Pronti who wasn’t even on the Borough Council until the plan and proposal was well on its way to completion.
Pronti and his puppets want you to believe that Property Taxes have decreased three consecutive times.
It’s just not true.
It’s false and a lie.
But where the greatest vacuum of leadership exists is on the acquisition of the QPHS facility by the North Arlington Board of Education.
The facility was purchased with zero public input and now a series of referendums are being proposed to make the necessary renovations and upgrades in the millions to open this building, yet no timeline has been proposed and what will happen to this facility if these referendums don’t receive voter approval?
And where does Mayor Pronti stand on this project?
Why won’t he take a stand and what is preventing him from leading on the single most important issue facing North Arlington?
It is generally accepted school parents may endorse the project, but what about the overwhelming majority of residents who know little, if anything about the purchase and planned renovation?
The buck stops at the Mayor’s office and Pronti wants to make change instead of taking a firm stance that exudes leadership, clarity and purpose!
Creating a permanent political monopoly is the goal of Pronti and Bocchino.
Keeping North Arlington a political island detached from governmental reality while opposing Congressman Bill Pascrell, NJ Senator Paul Sarlo, Assembly members Calabrese and Schaer as well as the entire seven-member Bergen County Board of Freeholders including favorite son and North Arlington resident Steve Tanelli?
Do NA voters endorse and support this kind of mindless collision course with the rest of government?
We don’t believe so either.
The Republicans have no agenda, platform or ideas for NA.
They are Pronti’s Puppets and Bocchino’s candidates.
The time for balanced government and a healthy mix of Democrats and Republicans here in North Arlington is what the public supports.
We need candidates dedicated and independent putting North Arlington taxpayer’s first.
We need a ticket what are the homeowner’s choice.
The Pronti ticket does not fit that bill.
