EDITORIAL: Councilman Mark Yampaglia: Quietly and modestly serving the residents of North Arlington!

The philosophy of Councilman Mark Yampaglia has been simple, get the job done and don’t be concerned about who gets the credit!

Working in a bipartisan basis is at the heart of the Councilman’s approach to open government.

The near completion of the renovation of the James Zadroga Memorial Field is an example of that bipartisan cooperation.

Mark was on the Borough Council when the facility was renamed after this fallen local hero of the 9/11 attacks.

His love of North Arlington and doing the right thing for taxpayers, children and seniors knows no peer.

A life-long resident, Mark graduated from NAHS where he lettered as a member of the Viking Varsity Baseball team.

Councilman Yampaglia has been successful as an elected official because he is more than happy to share the successes of North Arlington with his colleagues on the Mayor and Council.

It’s the reason why he was appointed twice to the Borough Council by two different mayors, a first in North Arlington local government. It’s the reason why he has been elected in 2005, 2008, 2011 and again in 2016 and serves as the community’s senior and ranking member.

Councilman Yampaglia is capable, qualified and ready to serve for a fifth time.

Unlike his opponents he is highly qualified and a local businessman with law offices in neighboring Rutherford and Jersey City. He is an executive committee member of a Jersey City based federal Credit Union and earned his BA and MA from FDU while earning his JD from The Touro School of Law. He is a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa.

Mark and his wife Shirley are parishioners of Queen of Peace Church.

The renovation and construction of the soccer facility enjoyed bipartisan support. He supported every resolution and expenditure to make that renovation a reality. Unlike his opponents who love to take the bows, Councilman Yampaglia is content in ensuring the children get an upgraded facility they can enjoy for years to come.

Getting the job done is what matters to Mark and leaves the politics of who gets the credit to others.

Because there is no rationale or reason not to reelect Councilman Yampaglia, his political opponents need to manufacture a notion that somehow challengers Del Russo, Cavadas and Bocchino were responsible.

They were not and they knew it.

They never had anything to do with this project and that’s just the truth.

None of them were elected to the Borough Council and none of them have a record or resume like Councilman Yampaglia in getting the job done.

When it comes to Property Taxes, redevelopment and a host of other concerns, these flawed candidates should present an agenda and platform for what they intend to do. To date the three of them have no platform and obviously plan to take credit for the good work of Councilman Yampaglia instead!

Councilman Yampaglia has a two decade record of substantial and effective public service. An attorney, life-long resident and the son of a former municipal judge, there is no comparison what he has done and what Del Russo, Cavadas and Bocchino have not!

It’s a shame that lying and spreading falsehoods about Councilman Yampaglia is the objective of this campaign to eliminate Democrats from local government and try to create a monopoly no one endorses or wants.

Before you vote, look at Councilman Yampaglia’s stellar record and call 991-6060 and ask for his votes just in case you have a doubt. While calling, ask for the record of Donna Bocchino, the daughter of political insider James Bocchino, the chief fundraiser of the GOP.

That will be a short phone call because she doesn’t have a record of doing anything for North Arlington!

North Arlington has a reliable and bipartisan voice in Councilman Mark Yampaglia. Don’t believe the outright lies of the Bocchino’s!
