GOP INCUMBENTS FITZHENRY & SHEEDY WASTE THOUSANDS ON NEWSLETTER, PAID FOR BY TAXPAYERS!

NORTH ARLINGTON – GOP incumbents Brian Fitzhenry and Allison Sheedy, both seeking to another term of office just voted yes to appropriate nearly $8,000 for a printed newsletter when North Arlington already has a website and newly developed app. 7,500 pieces of the newsletter were mailed out recently when this information could have been easily accessed online for free.  “Print is the most expensive and least effective medium. Why would they waste nearly $8,000 on a newsletter that could have been created in a digital format and saved the taxpayers money,” offered both Balwierczak and Yampaglia, the Democratic hopefuls for borough council in this November’s general election.“Why print? Was there a competitive bidding process? Who decided to make this very questionable media choice,” offered the candidates.“The entire world is moving away from the expense of paper when applicable. Why are Fitzhenry and Sheedy embracing the most expensive form of communication makes little sense for taxpayers.”

The Democrats said they would make the website the primary form of communication for residents if they were elected and would avoid what they deem are unnecessary expenditures. “Information today is immediate. The Borough has a very effective website and this decision to just throw nearly $8,000 out the window is the reason why we need responsible, two-party government,” offered the candidates.
