Threatens local Democrats for canvassing door to door in garden apartments
NORTH ARLINGTON – An anonymous online poster claiming to speak for all tenants in these garden apartments is threatening to stop Democratic candidates from campaigning and meeting area residents (see posting).
The Democrats were undeterred.
“It’s a shame it needs to get this ugly and threatening. People want to meet their candidates. This kind of reckless and anonymous behavior is unfortunate,” offered candidate John Balwierczak who has personally canvassed the entire community door-to-door for over a year without incident or disruption.
The poster, a partisan supporter of Mayor Dan Pronti and his hand-picked candidates seems to be sour on basic grass roots democracy.
“We knocked on over 400 doors today and the response has been positive. People are glad to see us campaigning even if they don’t support us. People want to see participation in the democratic process and that’s good for North Arlington,” noted the candidate.
