Appointments & Campaign Donations: Seven Borough Vendors Give Financial Support to Pronti, NA Republicans!

Appointments & Campaign Donations: Seven Borough Vendors Give Financial Support to Pronti, NA Republicans!

Public records show that at least seven vendors identified have a direct, documented connection to North Arlington’s municipal Government or local redevelopment activity.

That makes this a legitimate subject for examining campaign contributions, professional appointments, and municipal spending.

This series of vendors who also happen to be donors to the Republicans in charge of North Arlington is an issue that goes strangely ignored or even acknowledged by MAGA Mayor Dan Pronti (R), a real estate agent from Bayonne seeking a third term come Tuesday, November 3rd.

Public records reveal that some of the Republican Party’s biggest donors are also professional appointees, vendors or companies that are involved in the redevelopment policies of North Arlington.

The Borough of North Arlington’s official 2026 professional appointments notice is particularly revealing. It lists several of these firms as municipal vendors, with appointments running through December 31, 2026.

Darragh & Bocker LLC

Municipal appointment confirmed.

Role: Borough prosecutor.

Amount Donated: $1,000 Source: New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission

The borough’s official notice has Savvy T. Darragh of Darragh & Bocker as its prosecutor for 2026. This is a direct professional appointment, not merely a business that happens to operate in town.

DS Properties

Development and property connection on Ridge Road.

Property owner and political contributor to the Republicans of $1,000 (2026)

DS Properties owned the storefront at 165 Ridge Road occupied by the North Arlington Republican organization and contributed $1,000 to the Fitzhenry/Sheedy campaign in September 2024. The report also identifies a $1,000 contribution to a Republican council campaign in October 2023. That property has been since torn down as well as the old Italian Villa property now being converted to apartments.

Guzzo Architects

Municipal appointment confirmed.

Role: Borough architect. Amount donated: $1,000 (2026).

The official 2026 appointments notice names Guzzo Architects as the borough architect. Separately, a report on a 2021 North Arlington Planning Board application says Guzzo & Guzzo represented the architectural side of a proposed 24-bedroom-unit development.

This gives the firm both a documented municipal professional role and a reported connection to private development activity in the borough.

J. Keane Electric Co. Inc.

Municipal appointment confirmed. Role: Borough electrician.

Amount donated: $1,000 (2026).

The borough’s official notice lists J. Keane Electric alongside Montillo Electric as a borough electrician for 2026. The company’s own website confirms that it is based in North Arlington.

Rogut McCarthy LLC

Municipal appointment confirmed. Role: Bond counsel.

Amount donated: $1,000 (2026).

The official notice names Rogut McCarthy as North Arlington’s bond counsel for 2026.

The firm also describes its practice as including public finance and representation of governmental entities. Bond counsel can be involved in municipal borrowing and financing transactions. A review of the borough’s bond ordinances, debt issuances, resolutions, and legal fee payments would show the extent of the firm’s actual work.

Alpha Dog Solutions

Role: Website Coordinator.

Amount donated: $1,000 (2026)

The borough’s official January 2026 notice confirms that Alpha Dog Solutions was appointed as the website coordinator for North Arlington. A separate February 2026 council agenda identifies Alpha Dog Solutions, LLC, doing business as NJLegalAds.com, as a provider of public-notice publishing services. The notice says the fees are governed by the respective contracts, rather than listing dollar amounts.

The owner of Alpha Dog Solutions is former Belleville Mayor Michael Melham, who was defeated for reelection by over 1,000 votes last Spring. Melham is not only a vendor, but a political confidante and ally of Mayor Dan Pronti. Pronti placed on his lawn a Melham campaign sign even though his residence is not in Belleville.

Here is a photo of Pronti’s residence and the sign:

Pearce Law LLC

Position: Borough Attorney – Amount donated: $2,000 (2026).

North Arlington Republicans have appointed and re-appointed Randy Pearce borough attorney for over a decade. Pearce is the single largest campaign contributor to North Arlington Republican campaigns and Pronti for the last ten years!

Pearce has billed North Arlington hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees on an annual basis for over a decade.

Borough disbursement records showing payments to both vendors (Alpha Dog Solutions, Pearce Law) for 2024, 2025 and 2026 to date.

For official records, the most useful sources are the North Arlington Borough website and the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC).

Six of the seven firms listed in North Arlington’s 2026 professional appointments notice are campaign contributors.

DS Properties has a documented property and political connection to Pronti and the Republicans.

Mayoral candidate John Balwierczak was concerned about this connection between municipal vendors and professional appointments.

“I am committed to putting taxpayers first. I do not accept political donations from developers and builders. I will be accountable and transparent as North Arlington’s chief executive. I will surround myself with a new team of professionals and experts based on their qualifications to do the job first and foremost.”

“This is an opportunity to clear the slate clean with a new perspective, a new way of governing that ends overdevelopment, urbanization and gentrification. I will stay true to the values of North Arlington of remaining small, safe, suburban, and most of all, affordable for working families and seniors. The days of placating out-of-town developers and interests will end on my watch. We will remain the gateway to Bergen County, not an extension of Belleville or a new path to Newark,” offered the lifelong resident, homeowner and graduate of North Arlington High School.
