PRONTI, DEL RUSSO & DECICCO POLITICIZING THE FOURTH OF JULY!
WHY WERE THESE CANDIDATES USING BOROUGH HALL AS A BACKDROP FOR PARTISAN PURPOSES?
JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY WE NEED RESPONSIBLE, TWO-PARTY GOVERNNMENT HERE IN NORTH ARLINGTON!
NORTH ARLINGTON – Republican Mayor Dan Pronti along with GOP incumbent council member Kirk Del Russo (R) and his running-mate Amanda DeCicco (R) are seen in this video trying to recite the Declaration of Independence in front of Borough Hall last week.
De Cicco, not really prepared apparently to make the recitation, kind of reminds you of a singer who forgets the words to the Star-Spangled Banner, more commonly referred to as the country’s National Anthem.
Celebrating Independence Day is a noble effort that should be promoted, not using this national holiday to showcase a partisan political candidate that has no connection to this municipal government.
They act as if the election was already held and Amanda has been coronated as a council member in her cowboy hat!
Why is she being showcased and afforded preferential treatment on borough property by these incumbents?
If she wasn’t a candidate, would she even be part of this staged event?
Watch the videos here of this attempted address, and ask yourself, who gave the local Republicans the authority or permission to use Borough Hall as a backdrop for a politically inspired event?
There are plenty of places and venues for Pronti, Del Russo and DeCicco to proclaim their love of country on their time, not the public’s.
Were the Democratic candidates invited to participate in this obvious political stunt?
Of course not.
But more importantly, when one is obviously not even prepared to make an address, what kind of council member will this individual make?
A show horse or a work horse?
A doer or just a ribbon cutter?
With a sketchy voting record and her “flip-flopping” support of the President, does North Arlington really require a candidate seemingly this unprepared?
