PROPERTY TAXES #1 ISSUE WITH NA HOMEOWNERS!

What me worry?                                           PROPERTY TAXES #1 ISSUE WITH NA HOMEOWNERS!

Random, Rolling Tax Assessments Have Residents Angry & Irritated.

Balwierczak & Sever Warmly Greeted at Doors.

NORTH ARLINGTON – Democratic council candidates John Balwierczak and Cengiz “Jim” Sever are taking a targeted approach to their canvassing efforts as they seek to break the all-Republican stranglehold on local government by defeating EnCap apologist and real estate agent Kirk Del Russo and his RINO running-mate Amanda DeCicco.

Republicans enjoy a 7-0 majority and Democrats have not won since 2016, but the two council challengers are optimistic based on the response they are receiving from this door-to-door effort.

“Taxes is the #1 issue, no question about it,” offered Cengiz “Jim Sever, a father, husband and homeowner making his second run for local office. Residents are questioning the ever-increasing cost of local government, as taxes are spiking and North Arlington is becoming urbanized and gentrified. We are losing the value proposition of residing in a community that is safe and suburban.”

“Property taxes increase without explanation and we have a Mayor who denies that taxes woefully spiked. They are spending more than ever before while squirrelling away a surplus that could provide tax relief. Working families and seniors are being squeezed as traffic increases and parking decreases. Republican rolling tax assessments are wildly unpopular by any metric,” noted Sever, a craftsman by trade and union member.

“Systematic pay hikes for part-time elected officials to attend one meeting a month are insulting to taxpayers. They are tired of the lack of parking and the massive overdevelopment on Ridge Road and the fact our opponents have no opinion on anything is equally disturbing. They are actually proud to be puppets for Pronti. They see it as some red badge of courage. Pronti does all the talking. But what will occur when they have to actually stand on their own two feet? Do either of these candidates realize we’re drowning in legal fees from one of their biggest political donors in the Borough Attorney? Who is watching out for taxpayers? We need a change. Someone needs to address the wild and reckless spending spree they can’t keep up with any longer,” offers John Balwierczak, a lifelong resident.

“After ten years of unbridled, runaway spending taxes are now rising at an alarming rate as homeowners are being penalized by these ongoing reassessments. Most towns wait 5 years, sometimes 10 years to conduct a revaluation. They are squeezing every red cent out of homeowners and are proud of it as they double-down on this unfair and unequitable process that has residents upset. Living in North Arlington definitely guarantees death and taxes,” said the locals.

“We’ll continue to go door-to-door and listen to the concerns of voters be they homeowners or tenants. They all seem to agree that having all Republicans all of the time needs to end and be replaced with a healthy dose of Democrats that would guarantee bipartisan government. The only way to control these random rolling assessments is to restore responsible two-party government that will guarantee that NA remains small, safe and suburban.”
