BALWIERCZAK: WHY WON’T DEL RUSSO OR DE CICCO DEBATE?

DEMOCRAT CLAIMS INCUMBENTS ARE HIDING FROM VOTERS.

NORTH ARLINGTON – John Balwierczak openly challenged Mayor Dan Pronti Thursday evening at the monthly meeting of the Borough Council to debate his hand-picked candidates while Pronti continued to interrupt his running mate Cengiz “Jim” Sever from completing a public statement into the record which is his right during public comment.

Pronti continued to interrupt the Democratic challenger and threatening to have Balwierczak removed from the meeting because he defended Sever’s right to free speech and participate.

Pronti, who is not on the ballot is running candidates for borough council in incumbents Kirk Del Russo and Amanda DeCicco as well as two school board candidates which would threaten the independence of public education by having partisan trustees that would answer to Pronti and not the Superintendent of Schools, teachers or parents.

“There campaign is in a four-corner stall. They want to run out the clock, say nothing and hope for the best,” observed candidate John Balwierczak.

“Pronti’s senior housing plan is a joke and it’s floundering. His inability to articulate the reasoning behind rolling reassessments was obvious. The failure to smartly and responsibly redevelop the MELRAYS property is apparent. His refusal to explain why North Arlington is squandering millions while raising property taxes makes no sense and his inability to explain why North Arlington had to pay a $200,000 out-of-court settlement to a former library employee is avoiding the truth,” blasted the challengers.

“They (Del Russo and DeCicco) lack the courage to be bipartisan, independent, or place homeowners or tenant’s first. Both Del Russo and DeCicco will be exposed for the frauds that they are because they are merely hand puppets to Pronti, and everyone knows it.”

“That’s why they are petrified by a candidate forum or debate.”

“They sit silent and offer nothing memorable or constructive. Being a council member requires some degree of independent thought and action. How can you make a $1,000 a month for attending a single meeting and not contribute, bit just collect a check? It’s time to fire the both of them and restore meaningful two-party government and end this political monopoly once and for all,” commented Balwierczak, a life-long resident and graduate of NAHS.
