NORTH ARLINGTON – In a campaign that has turned nasty, negative, and in the gutter thanks to the actions of supporters of Del Russo & DeCicco, Democrats in contrast continue to wage a positive effort and agenda despite what the incumbents are enabling.
Candidate John Balwierczak along with his running-mate Cengiz “Jim” Sever greeted residents Saturday morning at the Post Office as Democrats have in the past for decades.
“We will not be intimidated,” said both Balwierczak and Sever.
“In contrast to the negative, divisive actions of the incumbents, we are sharing our vision for a better, more affordable North Arlington and this message is resonating with the public. People are shocked by the actions of the opposition and the destruction of our signs which also took place last year as well. They hate the mere notion of being questioned or that others not part of the Pronti political machine want to take part in the governance of North Arlington,” offered both Balwierczak & Sever.
Locals describe the environment as “bitterly partisan and frightening,” if you happen to be a supporter of Balwierczak and Sever for Borough Council.
“Our opponents in this race find some sick satisfaction in our signs being defaced. This election is not about winning or losing, it’s about eliminating any political competition or second opinion on the state of North Arlington forever.”
WHY WON’T DEL RUSSO & DECICCO DEBATE?
“They lack the ability to stand on their own two feet. They are puppets and Pronti’s strings need to be attached for these candidates to function! They have yet to offer the community anything except vicious personal attacks online through mindless supporters and surrogates,” offered Balwierczak.
“Watching the two them at council meetings is like two mannequins unable to formulate an opinion other than to utter the word “yes” to anything Pronti demands. It’s pathetic how truly uninformed and unprepared they appear,” blasted Balwierczak.

“Bruno Associates and Borough Attorney Randy Pearce, who has billed nearly $400,000 in legal fees since January of 2024 is a primary donor to the Republicans once again. Pay for play is alive and well in North Arlington as a majority of contributors either have professional service contracts or are developers doing business in North Arlington and Del Russo & DeCicco blindly vote “yes” on every bill with zero scrutiny,” observed Balwierczak and Sever.
WHY WAS THE GOP SIGN LEFT UNTOUCHED WHILE THE DEMOCRATS SIGN WAS DESTROYED?
“The Republicans have characterized me as “unqualified” too many times to mention. The hard reality is that they enable this nonsense and are proud of these destructive acts. The sign was not torn down. No one had a problem with the location. This is the act of a sick Republican supporter, and we will get to the bottom of this regardless the outcome of the election. If we need to contact the Prosecutor’s Office, so be it,”

“Washington School could have the suspects on camera given the proximity to the sign. Whover did this took a long time to deface the sign. They wanted to make a point and now is the opportunity to reveal the vandal or vandals,” offered the candidates.
“My son was in tears. Why would someone do something like this? We are Americans. We are residents of North Arlington and have a right to participate in the political process. Our opponents and specifically their mindless followers revel in this kind of gutter campaign. Making excuses and not having the integrity or character to condemn these criminal acts speak for themselves. How much more evidence is required that this one-party monopoly is a threat to basic democracy? We have been warned by many that these are the tactics of the opposition. It’s depressing,” said Sever.
WHY WAS AN NJ AFL-CIO VOLUNTEER STOPPED FROM GOING DOOR TO DOOR PROMOTING THE ENDORSED CANDIDATES OF LABOR, BALWIERCZAK & SEVER?
“A volunteer nurse was told to stop campaigning by a member of the NAPD. That a permit was required to canvass. This is a blatant lie. No one needs a permit to practice a constitutionally protected activity. Once again, we’re faced with these kinds of obstacles that are unfair and unwarranted,” offered Balwierczak.
“Why are we being treated like we’re the enemy? Despite what the incumbents may believe, campaigning for public office is still legal.”
Both Balwierczak and Sever will expose the lies and hate of this opposition to responsible two-party governance.
“Ten years is too long for anyone to have absolute power. They are petrified by the notion of Democrats on the council, and the questions is why? Del Russo & DeCicco have no business anywhere near Borough Hall, much less elected officials. Pawns and puppets are not qualifications to serve in local government unless Pronti is your mayor,” blasted Balwierczak.
