TAXPAYER FUNDED NEWSLETTER PROMOTES DECICCO TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE ELECTION!
WHY ARE TAXPAYERS SUBSIDIZING DECICCO’S CAMPAIGN?
NORTH ARLINGTON – Appointed, not elected by anyone, Amanda DeCicco was prominently showcased in a taxpayer funded newsletter with an estimated cost between $10,000-12,000 days before the November 4th election.
DeCicco is the political invention of Mayor Dan Pronti, the least qualified candidate for public office in recent memory.
DeCicco has refused to debate the Democrats and has no platform or agenda made available for the public to review.
DeCicco, who has a sketchy voting record and never voted in a primary until June of this year when her name appeared on the ballot, was mysteriously given this “free” advertising to promote herself courtesy of taxpayers who paid for this newsletter which is estimated to cost between $10-12,000 when you consider the postage, paper and layout.
Like last year’s version, the newsletter is strategically mailed to influence voters on an individual that has no record to speak of and is using “franked mail” for partisan and political purposes.
As usual, the cost of the newsletter has been hidden from the public.
The printed newsletter, which is highly ineffective, expensive and nothing but an “ego stroke” for the Pronti Administration that accomplishes little except masquerade as a government mailing for the first time candidate who endorses the random tax reassessments that are unpopular and raising property taxes!
Democrats were asked to comment.
“Amanda DeCicco has been a member of the council for about a month and has no discernible accomplishments to speak of. This arrogant and brazen use of tax dollars to politically promote herself speaks for itself. She has no respect for homeowners who paid for this wasteful expenditure that could have been emailed or texted thus drastically reducing the cost. The objective here was to manufacture her image as an effective council member at the expense of the public,” noted Democrat John Balwierczak, a candidate for borough council.
“Who wrote this political piece of propaganda? We have attended council meetings for months and no mention of this partisan piece of mail was being considered or discussed. Like everything else here in North Arlington, Pronti and his puppets do as they please with no regard to wasting tax dollars. This was printed on premium paper and was authored by an outside vendor that cost at least $10,000 based on our own findings. These people are spending tax dollars for blatant political purposes, and they did it because they can get away with it,” blasted Balwierczak.
WHAT THE NEWSLETTER DOESN’T MENTION!
Democrats Balwierczak and his running mate Cengiz “Jim” Sever were not surprised that the newsletter was nothing but a political promotion of DeCicco, who has never participated in local government until being appointed to fill the unexpired term of Lynette Cavadas who abruptly resigned from the council with no explanation and moved to neighboring Lyndhurst.
THE $238,800 INSTALLATION OF THE “FREE” WATER FOUNTAIN:
The Pronti Administration refuses to disclose what developer “donated” this mystery water fountain to North Arlington despite being required to do so under state law. Claiming it was “free,” the installation itself has cost taxpayers nearly $240,000!
Here is the resolution approving this outrageous expenditure.

THE $200,000 OUT-OF-COURT SETTLEMENT WITH FORMER LIBRARY EMPLOYEE IRENE COLAO:
Here is the resolution approving the payment to Colao as well as the initial complaint filed in Superior Court in Monmouth County. See here the allegations that were made by the former library employee of a hostile work environment and usage of the “n-word” against patrons of the Library! DeCicco supports the out-of-court settlement. Colao Complaint (click here)

NEARLY $400,000 IN LEGAL FEES SINCE JANUARY OF 2024:
North Arlington is drowning in legal fees to the Borough Attorney to the tune of nearly $400,000 since January of last year. The Borough Attorney is also the single largest political contributor to Republican campaigns for over a decade. DeCicco has endorsed this course of action.
DECICCO EMBARRASSES HERSELF AT FOURTH OF JULY STUNT AT BOROUGH HALL:
So unprepared, DeCicco is seen here as a candidate and not a public official unable to even recite the words of the Declaration of Independence. She had no business being part of an official borough sponsored event because she held no position to qualify. Once again partisan politics trumping good government trying to promote herself for strictly political purposes.
“Frivolous and wasteful expenditures like this partisan newsletter have no place in local government. The Republicans have raised nearly $30,000 to promote their candidates. Why are government mailings being used for partisan and political purposes? It is disgraceful and it disqualifies DeCicco as a credible candidate for public office,” offered both Balwierczak and Sever.
