DEL RUSSO/DECICCO SUPPORTERS VANDALIZE BALWIERCZAK/SEVER SIGNS AGAIN!
NORTH ARLINGTON – NA TODAY has learned that more lawn signs promoting the candidacies of council candidates John Balwierczak and Cengiz “Jim” Sever were defaced and destroyed again!
This is the second time over the last two weeks.
While Democrats are running a positive campaign based on the issues, the GOP incumbents are running the most negative campaign in recent memory.
“These are their supporters destroying our signs. It’s beneath traditional and normal campaign behavior. Who would go to these lengths to destroy campaign signs? The silence of the incumbents is not surprising but tells you what lengths are being taken to destroy responsible two-party government and competitive elections,” observed candidate John Balwierczak.
The Democrats called the local Republican campaign devoid of any platform or agenda.
“It’s a sleazy effort to destroy political competition, pure and simple,” offered the council hopefuls.
“They don’t just want to win. They are offended they have competition and have to answer for their miserable record on the random and rolling tax reassessments. Del Russo and DeCicco are nothing but puppets for Dan Pronti and they don’t even deny it.”
“These kinds of dirty campaign tactics are threatening political participation. It scares people from getting involved for fear of reattribution. The actions of local Republicans are clear; they want to eliminate any competition; they want a one-party government with no debate or discussion. They hate any political push back. They want us eliminated from the electoral process.”
“This is not a question of party affiliation. What reasonable Republican or Democrat supports such behavior? North Arlington has been dominated by Republicans for over a decade, and they believe this is their town and the rest of us who make-up the actual majority of residents just live here,” blasted Balwierczak whose mother was visibly upset by the vandalism of the signs.
“We are not the enemy. We are offering voters a legitimate and credible alternative to this foolishness.”
“Why are they so afraid of the Democratic presence on the Borough Council? Could it be they would have to explain the $200,000 out-of-court settlement that resulted from allegations of a hostile work environment and using the “N-word” against patrons of the Library? Or the phony free water fountain that actually cost $238,800? They spent at least $10,000 for a newsletter that promoted Amanda DeCicco, the flawed and failed candidate who has no resume or record to speak of except supporting these random, rolling reassessments. And why not? She is not a homeowner and does not pay property taxes,” offered candidate Cengiz “Jim” Sever.
SEVER ENDORSED BY NEW JERSEY AFL-CIO
In a letter mailed to union households today, Sever received the endorsement of the New Jersey AFL-CIO leadership of which some 2,000 North Arlington residents are members.
“As the only union member in this race, I’m proud to receive this the support of the AFL-CIO. John and I believe working families and seniors are being ignored by the likes of Del Russo & DeCicco. While they wallow in the political mud, we’re working to retain our values and keep North Arlington small, safe and suburban.”

“The notion that Dan Pronti views himself as non-partisan is delusional. He is the head of the Republican Party. He has personally endorsed both Del Russo and DeCicco. He personally selected DeCicco. He is the most partisan political figure ever to serve in local government. His goal is to eliminate responsible and competitive elections here in North Arlington and is now running a slate of candidates to assume power at the NA Board of Education. He authorized tax dollars for a partisan newsletter that promoted the DeCicco candidacy and refused to disclose what developers allegedly donated this water fountain that cost $238,800 while claiming it was free. He is a personal embarrassment to the community. He doesn’t represent North Arlington. He is a Hudson County style political hack from Bayonne,” offered Balwierczak.
“How much did that political piece of propaganda that promotes Amanda DeCicco cost homeowner’s Dan? Your disregard for tax dollars is evident. Your rolling tax reassessments are killing homeowners.”
