BALWIERCZAK: OVERDEVELOPMENT, TAX ABATEMENTS & ROLLING REASSESSMENTS WON’T END UNTIL PRONTI IS DENIED A THIRD TERM!
NORTH ARLINGTON – Democratic mayoral candidate John Balwierczak called upon NA voters to deny MAGA Mayor Dan Pronti a third term and thus rejecting his policies of massive overdevelopment, random reassessments and unwarranted tax abatements that shift the burden of payment to working families and seniors.
Balwierczak, a lifetime resident, homeowner and graduate of North Arlington High School, is challenging the entrenched incumbent Pronti, a part-time mayor and real estate agent from Bayonne in Hudson County. No Democrat currently serves on the seven-member Mayor & Council despite the fact there are more registered Democrats and Independents then Republicans. 
“Under Pronti, he is personally responsible for the destruction and decimation of the Ridge Road business district as dozens of empty storefronts litter our main artery. No longer the gateway to Bergen County, we have become an extension of Belleville as the proliferation of apartment construction is further destroying our suburban values of being small and safe. Does anyone believe after the Ridge Road shooting and the federal raid of that Belleville Pike business involved in drugs that NA is safe on Pronti’s watch? The answer is obvious,” offered the candidate.
THE TAX ABATEMENT SCHEMES OF THE GOP!
Under Pronti, two properties have received tax abatements, saving them thousands in conventional tax payments . The two properties are 12 Porete Avenue which is 111,660 square feet and 500 Belleville Pike and 50,145 square feet.
A tax abatement is when the government intentionally reduces, eliminates or postpones the payment of property taxes.
“There is no justification of offering these perks to a business. All it does is shift the property tax burden to every other homeowner. This is a failed policy, and we see it right now in Jersey City as the proliferation of tax abatements to businesses shifted the responsibility to homeowners who got socked with a 15% tax hike! This is what occurs when you have a part-time mayor and real estate agent from Bayonne running North Arlington into the ground,” offered the lifelong NA resident.
TERM LIMITS NOW!
Balwierczak said if elected he will call for term limits on the office of mayor and council with a three-term limit for mayor and a four-term limit for members of the borough council or 12 years in total.
“Pronti despises elections. He just doesn’t want to win; he wants to eliminate the Democrats and anyone else that is not a blind follower to his partisan schemes and political scams. He hates the fact that we’re holding him accountable and transparent. Isn’t it strange that he can’t defend his own record and only attack me for just running? What is he so afraid of? Pronti gets along with no one at the county, state, or federal level. We have become an opressed island like Cuba. I have the endorsement of our County Executive, member of Congress and our legislative team. Pronti is the big fish in a very small puddle,” blasted the candidate. 
WHY WON’T PRONTI DISCLOSE THE PRIVATE USE OF PUBLIC VEHICLES?
In 2025, a North Arlington fire vehicle was prominently parked at an Atlantic City casino in a premium parking spot at the entrance as exposed by a whistle blower. What was a municipal vehicle doing parked some 125 miles away and 2-3 hours to reach? How much gas and tolls were paid for by taxpayers? How many publicly owned vehicles are being used for private use? 
Why are the answers to these simple questions ignored by Pronti?
“North Arlington has become an urbanized extension of Belleville, a gateway to Newark, not Bergen County. Pronti’s time as mayor can be best summed up as the complete urbanization and massive overdevelopment of what was once a quiet suburban community now with a crime problem he seemingly ignores. This is a retired ex-cop in denial. He has no opinion on a federal drug raid of a business now suddenly closed. He has no opinion on making Ridge Road safer in wake of the murders. He is detached from reality and the time for a fresh start is now,” said the Democrat.
