BALWIERCZAK: 40 UNITS IN A FLOOD ZONE NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT! SENIORS WANT PROPERTY TAX RELIEF NOW!
Balwierczak will offer a 2027-28 budget that cuts spending and provides tax relief for all homeowners!
NORTH ARLINGTON – As the Pronti reelection campaign continues to collapse, Democrats were curious how a reduced number of housing units at just forty in any way meets the need for some 2,700 seniors really seeking property tax relief versus subsidized government housing?
It seems MAGA Mayor Dan Pronti doesn’t get it and never will.
For Pronti’s latest empty promise fails to address the basic details about any serious housing proposal:
- Total construction cost.
- The value of the Borough-owned, 200 River Road property contributed to the project.
- Actual amount contributed by this private redeveloper.
- Municipal borrowing/bonds, if any?
- State or federal grants/tax credits?
- Cost of the new VFW facility?
- Cost of the senior center/municipal space?
- Whether the Borough receives a payment for the land or gives it to the redeveloper?
- Annual operating and maintenance costs?
- Who ultimately owns the building?
- Who determines who qualifies and who selects these tenants?
- Will there be a preference for NA seniors?
“These are the questions and answers that remain secret and hidden from public scrutiny. Like Trump, Pronti is more obsessed slapping his name on a building then providing an actual service or benefit for North Arlington seniors. More questions unanswered that leaves NA taxpayers holding the bag,” offered the lifelong resident and graduate of NAHS.
Balwierczak accused the project as being a “half-assed proposal” that fails to answer issues of flooding and that Pronti’s inability to work with others governmental partners at the county, state and federal levels have left North Arlington with a costly white elephant that solves nothing.
“Dan Pronti is an island to himself. He doesn’t have a single ally at any level of government except the former mayor of Belleville who just got his clock cleaned for reelection,” observed Balwierczak.
“He remains a big fish in a political puddle.” For this is the best he can do after making the same promise for nearly a decade. It’s obvious we need change now.”
Balwierczak noted that senior units in Lyndhurst total 99 while East Rutherford is142.
That’s 241 to just 40!
How do you justify 40 units with no cost figures?
Where are the details?
Especially when it comes to potential flooding.
“Any resident knows the conditions at River Road after a big storm. He is once again leading from the back of the line with no details, just patting himself on the back as usual.”
“Dan Pronti has been making the same promise for a decade and the losers are North Arlington’s 2,700 seniors on fixed incomes. He has no respect for seniors or renters as well, and If I am elected, I’ll call for the reestablishment of a functional Rent Leveling Control Board. You want change, we need to remove Dan Pronti from office and return responsible two-party governance. I can work with the remaining Republicans, the problem is Dan Pronti, the real estate agent from Bayonne,” offered Balwierczak.
