NA DEMOCRATS HOST “TRUNK OF TREATS” AT JEFFERSON SCHOOL HALLOWEEN GATHERING!

2024 Council Hopefuls Balwierczak & Yampaglia offer treats to local NA kids Wednesday evening

NORTH ARLINGTON – Running for office is not just about politics, campaign promises or public policy, but rather engaging North Arlington’s diversified community of school-age parents and children during the Halloween season was great fun for all.

The candidates dressed up and handed out a car load of candy and treats and both were well received by all.

“Very thankful to take part in this special event. It is a blessing,” offered both John Balwierczak and John Yampaglia.

“We want to be engaged in the neighborhood. Public service is not just about meetings and the business of government, but just reaching out and being a part of the community’s activities like Halloween in many ways is just as critical. Being seen and accessible is our approach and we plan to be a part of as many future activities as possible,” noted John Balwierczak who wore a Sheriff’s costume and was thrilled by number of children that stopped by their trunk to pick-up some candy.

“What makes a great community is engagement and offering venues such as this so both parents and children can mingle and have some fun outside the classroom. We were happy to stop by and have some fun with so many friends and neighbors,” offered John Yampaglia, who dressed as GI Joe.

Balwierczak and Yampaglia, both lifelong residents and graduates of NAHS have been greeting and meetings residents door-to-door for months in an effort to gather signatures for their nominating petitions for Borough Council and see what is on the minds of average North Arlington homeowners and taxpayers.

“People are very gracious and welcoming. And we appreciate that reception,” offered John Yampaglia, the owner of his own small business in Essex County.

“We’re listening and learning. What is on the mind of a retired senior is sometimes different from a school-age parent or someone new to North Arlington. These kinds of events around a holiday like Halloween bring a community together and that is a positive thing. We want to thank those in charge for allowing us to take part and we also want to thank the network of volunteers and employees that make these kinds of festive gatherings possible,” offered both Balwierczak and Yampaglia.
