REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11TH: 25 YEARS LATER.
NORTH ARLINGTON – As the nation remembers and mourns the 25th Anniversary of the attack upon America, resident John Balwierczak is seen here at the local 9/11 Memorial statue at Schuyler Avenue.
“I was in the seventh grade at the old Middle School (now the Susan B Anthony elementary) at the time of the attack, and my late Dad was then employed by PATH Operations for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. As an Operations Examiner, he oversaw conductors and engineers and was on the job for weeks after. There isn’t a day that doesn’t go by that I don’t think about those we lost, and that the principles of democracy and freedom live on because of those who perished.”
Here is an image of the badge his Dad received on 9.11.2001.
Take some time to remember our first responders all!
Remember, freedom is always earned and never free.
