JIM SEVER: A VOICE FOR WORKING FAMILIES, SENIORS AND TAXPAYERS!

IS NA SAFE WITH PRONTI IN CHARGE?

NORTH ARLINGTON – Jim Sever is a homeowner, husband and Dad who is the only candidate in this race that has been endorsed by the New Jersey AFL-CIO, one of just a handful of municipal candidates in all of Bergen County.

John Balwierczak and his running mates Dennis Papile and Sever have also secured the endorsement of the Bergen County Central Trades Council of the AFL-CIO.

A tile & marble installer by profession, here is a letter Jim has distributed to the community as he, Balwierczak and Papile try to become the first Democrats to serve on the Mayor & Council since 2019. This year’s outrageous pay hike was engineered by Pronti and his running-mates, Donna Bocchino and Mario Karcic.

Currently there are no Democrats on the North Arlington Mayor & Council. It was Pronti, Donna Bocchino and Mario Karcic that have raised our property taxes when they didn’t have too.

“How would you like to raise your own pay with no public input? This is the fifth increase in a row by Pronti, and he is now the highest paid part-time in Bergen County. This is not progress, this is heavy-handed partisan spending of our money,” observed the candidate.

Originally from Brooklyn, Jim’s children attended local public schools, and Jim is concerned about the proliferation of apartment construction that is decreasing residential parking and increasing traffic along Ridge Road.

In addition, he opposes the Republican random property reassessments that are squeezing taxpayers and urbanizing North Arlington versus retaining our suburban values.

“North Arlington is changing and not for the better with Mr. Pronti as mayor. My neighbors feel unsafe with the unprecedented violence along Ridge Road as well as the federal raid that took place on the Belleville Pike by a business mixed up in drugs. These are issues North Arlington never had to experience until Pronti’s urbanization that is destroying our long-standing community values. Dan Pronti has had eight years as mayor and things are far worse with him in charge,” noted the candidate.

“The time for responsible two-party government is now. Having Republicans raising their own pay and property taxes all at the same time is not sustainable. We need to bring a healthy discussion back to our local government. Building hundreds of apartments along Ridge Road and destroying our business district is just a bad policy. Give us a chance to place North Arlington back on the right track.
