North Arlington ranks “fourth highest” in average property tax bills among these nine area municipalities.
Property taxes are similar to those of Wallington, Lyndhurst and Belleville, but substantially higher than those of Carlstadt, E Rutherford, Kearny, and Secaucus!
NORTH ARLINGTON – While MAGA Mayor Dan Pronti tries to downplay the impact of roaming reassessments, massive overdevelopment and the spending sprees on his watch, the fact of the matter is his inability to significantly grow our economic capacity when compared to other like and area communities is obvious.
His inability to attract new business to the Meadowlands or compete with other municipalities
Is part of the reason property taxes are climbing at a steady rate.
“This is why he depends on financial gimmicks like rolling property reassessments and squeezing more and more apartment on Ridge Road which is urbanizing North Arlington,” offered Democrat John Ballwierczak.
For Balwierczak said it best, “his brand of massive overdevelopment and random construction of apartments isn’t working. Replicating Belleville’s overdevelopment practices is the definition of stupidity,” blasted the lifelong resident and homeowner.
Balwierczak believes we need a complete change in direction and leadership at the top.
“Pronti’s dependence on Robert Ceberio, the former state bureaucrat and proponent of the failed EnCap scheme, does not work. We need a new set of eyes and thinking that resets our development principles, goals, and objectives. Ceberio is receiving thousands a month to give a 10-minute report at council meetings no one attends. If I win, that contract will be terminated.”

Here is a graph proving just how expensive it is to live and work in North Arlington in comparison to surrounding communities and the impact on working families and seniors:
- Rutherford: The average bill is $2,621 higher per year than North Arlington.
- Belleville: The average bill is $193 higher.
- Lyndhurst: The average bill is $101 higher.
- Wallington: The average bill is $70 lower.
- Kearny: The average bill is $693 lower.
- Carlstadt: The average bill is $2,050 lower.
- East Rutherford: The average bill is $3,260 lower.
- Secaucus: The average bill is $3,777 lower.
“After 8 years as mayor and several terms as a councilman, Pronti delivered OPUS as his solution to new ratables. His answer for seniors is forty units in a flood zone. This is why he refuses to debate and spent $10,000 on a taxpayer funded newsletter that plastered his face twenty-three times over 12-pages of fluff,” blasted the challenger.
Balwierczak promised to continue to take his campaign to every door where residents want to discuss his plan of action should voters give him the opportunity to serve.
