Balwierczak intensifies search for support in his door-to-door efforts!
NORTH ARLINGTON – Underdog challenger John Balwierczak has intensified his door-to-door canvassing this week as he walked four consecutive nights feeling a considerable shift in voter attitude as the November 3rd general election is just weeks away.
Balwierczak, a lifelong resident, homeowner and graduate of North Arlington HS stepped up his door knocking as he has personally distributed over 2,000 flyers to voters promoting his candidacy and his council running mates, Dennis Papile and Cengiz “Jim” Sever.

Both Papile & Sever are husbands, parents and homeowners as Papile is a crossing guard for the school district and Sever is a union tile & marble installer who has been endorsed by the New Jersey AFL-CIO, one of a handful of union members seeking municipal office statewide this year.
The entire ticket has been endorsed by the Bergen County Central Labor Trades Council, representing thousands of working families here in Northern New Jersey. 
Balwierczak is challenging the two-term incumbent Dan Pronti, a real estate agent from Bayonne.
According to the candidate and the homes he has touched, there is a definitive sense of frustration of the direction of the community, and voters are ready to make a change after years of all Republicans and zero Democrats on the Mayor & Council.
Balwierczak cited the Ridge Road double homicide this summer as well as the federal raid of a Belleville Pike business mixed up in drugs that has since closed. Balwierczak believes a greater police presence and deployment is necessary to calm the fears of many concerned residents. 
“Dan Pronti is a retired ex-cop, his lack of concern regarding that federal drug raid is disturbing indeed. But back in 2024 he was more than happy to promote this business on his mayoral FACEBOOK page, a page of which I am blocked as a resident,” noted the candidate. 
“Compound his 2026 Municipal Tax hike, giving himself a generous raise as well as the rest of the Borough Council for the fifth consecutive time and his insistence on random property assessments have residents concerned and rightly so. This is to say nothing of his decimation of our business district, the vacancies and empty store fronts, and the massive overdevelopment of apartment construction is tough to stand all at the same time.”
THE OPUS FLIP FLOP! 
What is most revealing just weeks before the election is Pronti’s “flip flop” on OPUS, the controversial apartment complex on Ridge Road Pronti supported from its inception as both a councilman and mayor.
“Since 2018 Maga Dan Pronti has supported this misguided proposal that is out of character with North Arlington’s small and suburban values and principles. The project was a mistake, and now some 8 years later Pronti is now admitting his failure as an elected official. There was a time when Democrats & Republicans agreed on the notion NA remain small, safe and suburban. That we are a gateway to Bergen County. That has all changed with Pronti in charge. Unfortunately, North Arlington has become an extension of Belleville and their massive overdevelopment practices. We have become urbanized, and thanks to Pronti, a gateway to Newark instead, blasted the challenger.
BOROUGH HALL DYSFUNCTIONAL WITH PRONTI IN CHARGE!
Balwierczak promised that a full review of how North Arlington manages its day-to-day operation will be first on his list should voters give him the honor to serve as mayor.
“Voters do not want a part-time mayor and real estate agent in charge. They reject paying our Borough Administrator over $200,000 in salary, perks and benefits to come to work just three days a week with a lavish office and big screen television. They do not support municipal vehicles seen in an Atlantic City Casino, 121 miles away in preferred parking. What is the explanation? Pronti is so arrogant he believes this is his town and the rest of us just live here and are supposed to take it. This all ends on November3rd.”
