INCREASES IN SPENDING, DEBT SERVICE AND SHORTFALL IN REVENUE HAS NORTH ARLINGTON STARING DOWN THE BARREL OF A KARCIC/BOCCHINO TAX DISASTER!
NORTH ARLINGTON – You won’t hear about this in the Mario Karcic, Donna Bocchino propaganda where all is well, but when you examine the actual financials for North Arlington, taxpayers will be socked with a massive tax hike come 2021!
With a $3,250,000 increase in municipal spending since 2017 compounded by additional debt service payments of $1,800,000 in 2020, this $5,050,000 in new expenditures has North Arlington bracing for a budget hole of nearly $4,000,000!
With another revenue shortfall of some $1,150,000 from the state, North Arlington will also lose $144,000 in host community fees as well as the added expenditure of now having to pay for the dumping of garbage that has been free for decades as a host community of solid waste operations that now is being eliminated which translates to $800,000!
Incumbents Karcic or Bocchino will not comment because they have no understanding of the budget process and are completely out of the loop when constructing a budget as they are unable to make the right choices to cut spending and thus stabilize the Municipal Tax rate for 2021!
Because of excessive borrowing and bonding for items outside of the operating budget the community cannot afford, Karcic and Bocchino continue on this crusade of credit card government that has homeowners petrified!
“There is no question taxes are rising in 2021 and that doesn’t account for the millions North Arlington has not budgeted for this phantom senior housing lie. Karcic and Bocchino are destroying Ridge Road with hundreds of apartments that are creating a tale of two North Arlington’s homeowners do not want nor support. Karcic and Bocchino simply have no ability to solve the tax crisis they are creating before our eyes,” said one insider when reviewing budget documents for 2020.
And what makes this all the more disastrous for homeowners the stress on essential services which will further cause property taxes to increase with higher school taxes and more students thanks to rank incompetence of Karcic and Bocchino.”
