ICONIC MR PASTA TO CLOSE JUNE 20TH!

POPULAR LONGTIME RIDGE ROAD RETAILER GONE FOREVER!

North Arlington – Mr. Pasta, the beloved Italian-American delicatessen announced online that they will be closing their doors on June 20th, joining a long line of merchants that have made a ghost town of Ridge Road in this ongoing gentrification of the community.

Some count as many as thirteen empty storefronts now along Ridge Road as this proliferation of apartment construction continues explode. Over 100 apartment units have been, or are under construction with more along the way.

The biggest vacancy is the dormant and empty Melrays, which the former furniture retailer space was recently on the auction block but did not sell.

In a statement made online, “after much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our beloved store, Mr. Pasta. Saturday, June 20th will be our last day of business.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support over the past 52 years. Our store has been a second home to our family and a place where we became part of our wonderful community in so many meaningful ways.”

“It has been our privilege to get to know so many of our customers and to watch generations of families grow over the years. Mr. Pasta was not only our livelihood, it was a place filled countless happy memories, meaningful friendships, and even moments of sadness that we shared together. Through it all, you have been there with us, and for that we will always be grateful.”

John Balwierczak, a candidate for mayor of North Arlington was saddened by the family’s decision.

“This is sad day for North Arlington. A great local business like Mr. Pasta was universally loved and respected. Local businesses and retailers like Mr. Pasta are important to a thriving local economy. I want to thank the family for all of the memories they have created for our community and wish them well in all of there future endeavors. They will be missed and remembered forever.”
