TICKET BACKLASH HAS NA FRUSTRATED & UPSET THANKS TO PRONTI’S “SAFETY STICKS”
BALWIERCZAK: THIS ISN’T BAYONNE DAN!
DEMOCRAT CALLS FOR MORE PARKING, LESS TICKETS!
NORTH ARLINGTON – As if random Republican reassessments weren’t already “picking the pockets” of homeowners, the parking shortage created by massive overdevelopment has residents fuming over Pronti’s latest public policy flop, the safety stick!
“Parking safety sticks” usually refers to those vertical flexible posts you see in parking lots or along curbs.
The proper name is delineator posts or flexible bollards.
The rampant use of these items (100) has residents in an uproar, only further complicating North Arlington’s self-inflicted parking problem caused by Mayor Dan Pronti’s overdevelopment MAGA schemes along Ridge Road, Belleville Turnpike, Schuyler Avenue and River Road.
“This parking problem was created exclusively by Pronti and now his solution is to write as many parking tickets as possible. We need more parking, not more parking tickets and fines for our residents,” noted John Balwierczak, who is challenging for the office of mayor in this year’s municipal elections.
Here is just a sample of the outrage caused by another Pronti policy failure:

According to some online posts by the business community, they feel the application and location of these “nuisance” sticks are random and unfair.
“Just like the random reassessments, they lack logic or reason,” offered Balwierczak, a lifelong resident and graduate of North Arlington High School.
“Maybe this is how they do things in Bayonne, antagonize residents. I’m for homeowners; this whole sad situation needs to be rethought and reevaluated.”
In August of 2025, Pronti enthusiastically endorsed the deployment of some 100 of these safety sticks that are about as popular as three feet of snow in April (see resolution).
“Pronti is out-of-touch, with North Arlington. He does as he pleases and has a rubber stamp Borough Council that just says “yes” to whatever he wants. There is no discussion, he says jump, and the council proclaims, how high? It’s pathetic,” charged the challenger.

Elections do have consequences.
Remember this November!
North Arlington demands responsible two-party government now.
