YAMPAGLIA: TIME TO RENOVATE THE SENIOR CENTER!

YAMPAGLIA: TIME TO RENOVATE THE NA SENIOR CENTER IS NOW!

Mark Yampaglia the right choice for mayorCouncilman Mark Yampaglia, the Democratic nominee for Mayor of North Arlington is calling for a major reconstruction and renovation of the Senior Center named after former Borough Clerk Eugene Madden.

This is one of the stated promises made by Yampaglia in this race to be North Arlington’s next mayor.

Yampaglia, a lawyer in private practice and life-long resident stated the renovation of the 40-year old structure is sorely overdue.

“Our seniors deserve more. That facility has not seen a stitch of serious renovation since it was constructed some forty years ago. We need an architectural and engineer’s report how best to move forward,” noted the four-term councilman.

Located behind the Library at the municipal complex off Ridge Road, Yampaglia wants the facility to be more usable and accessible for seniors in terms of added square footage and amenities such as dedicated eating area and a possible second floor.

Yampaglia wants the facility to be more usable and accessible for seniors“We need to give back to seniors. Everyone eventually becomes a senior and that investment is long overdue. Should I be successful I will appoint a steering committee of North Arlington seniors for feedback and advice on the needs and challenges that would come with a major renovation.”

Like any ambitious project Yampaglia stated that cost will be a concern.

“I want to be sure it is done right. That whatever is ultimately decided is a facility that meets current and future needs. If that means demolishing the existing structure to get a state-of-the-art facility, so be it. I want to be sure the investment is prudent and embraced by those who will enjoy the center for years to come.” noted Yampaglia who has served as liaison to North Arlington seniors in the past.

Endorsed by three former mayors in Ed Martone, Russ Pitman and Peter Massa who is his council running-mate, Yampaglia has put together a true agenda that will unify North Arlington about what residents expect from their local government.

Yampaglia, Massa and retired private sector CFO Josie Papile have been endorsed by the following individuals:

· NJ Governor Phil Murphy
· US Congressman Bill Pascrell
· Bergen County Executive James Tedesco
· Bergen County Clerk John Hogan
· Bergen Freeholder Steve Tanelli
