BLOWOUT IN BELLEVILLE!
MELHAM OVERWHELMINGLY REJECTED IN LANDSLIDE LOSS, IS PRONTI NEXT?
MASSIVE OVERDEVELOPMENT FOILS INCUMBENT 59%-41%!
BALWIERCZAK: PRONTI’S POLICIES ARE BREAKING NA’S BACK; CHANGE IS ON THE WAY!
BELLEVILLE – Insurgent Belleville Councilman Frank Velez, shook the political world tonight with a stunning upset of incumbent Mayor Michael Melham, a prime ally of Mayor Dan Ponti (R), where he serves as a municipal vendor, advisor and heavy campaign contributor to the local Republicans.
After hearing the results, one political observer noted, “Pronti’s political arm got cut off tonight. Now he knows his policies have no support and is truly vulnerable for the first time in his career.”
“A part-time real estate agent pushing hundreds of apartments is a bad look, especially when property taxes continue to rise at a steady clip.”
With 100% of the districts reporting , Velez walloped Melham 3,255 to 2,218 in this May municipal contest.
A 1,000-vote victory!
It wasn’t even close.
Velez, a first term councilmember, ran on the very issue of massive overdevelopment and higher property taxes as reported recently here, with Pronti virtually mimicking Melham’s failed development policies that saw him get the boot!

John Balwierczak was jubilant as the Belleville results confirm what he thought all along, Pronti’s redevelopment policies are all wrong and that responsible two-party government is required to get North Arlington back on track.
“Now we know the rest of the story. Melham’s policies and practices don’t work in Belleville and don’t work in North Arlington. Pronti’s political clone and mentor was shown the door because of rapid redevelopment; Melham created without a shred of community support. Belleville is not North Arlington, but Dan Pronti is definitely Melham,” noted the enthusiastic lifelong resident and graduate of North Arlington HS.
“Ten years of Dan Pronti is too much. I can work with the remaining Republicans. The problem is this part-time real estate agent who sides with out-of-town developers every time, not our homeowners or tenants who have had enough of the Pronti political machine,” offered the Democratic hopeful.
Melham, who owns Alpha Dog Solutions is a municipal vendor who has donated thousands to Pronti’s Republican Party, is now out and observers believe Pronti is next.
“It’s an obvious wake-up call. The myth has been that Pronti can’t lose. Well, he’s been exposed as the MAGA political prince with no clothes! There is no homeowner support for hundreds of apartments he has constructed with hundreds more on the way as there are currently, thirteen empty storefronts on Ridge Road, with MELRAYS vacant for over a year. We are right on the issues, and I will end this overdevelopment scheme coupled with Pronti’s random reassessments that are driving longtime residents, especially seniors out of NA,” noted Balwierczak.

“I want to debate Pronti. He needs to be held accountable. He will run on his miserable record, and I will promote my positive agenda of ending this urbanization and gentrification of our community that wants to retain our values of keeping NA small, safe, and suburban.”
“This is Bergen County, not Bayonne Dan.”
Balwierczak also noted he will end Pronti’s continued partisan attempts to elect political hacks to the North Arlington Board of Education.
“Politics has no place in our public schools. We currently have educational advocates who are doing a great job. I will unite North Arlington. I can work with the BOE as well as the remaining Republicans. I won’t pretend that when a business is raided by federal authorities, it’s not a big deal. I am offering the positive change NA needs after ten years of all Republicans all of the time.”

Balwierczak is hosting a campaign fundraiser on Wednesday, May 27th at the Arlington Diner located at River Road and the Belleville Turnpike and tickets are $100 per person and you can pay at the door or RSVP by calling (201) 655-8497.
All supportive residents are invited regardless of party affiliation.
