NA is losing its affordability

NA’s Affordability is Disappearing, no longer Small, Safe and Suburban under Local Republicans!

According to property tax statistics recently released from the State of New Jersey North Arlington homeowners pay the second highest taxes in all of South Bergen. North Arlington’s $9,812 average tax bill is exceeded only by the taxes paid in the upscale town of Rutherford where the median household income is $93,787 according to Data USA.

The median household income in North Arlington is $74,481, nearly $20,000 less than Rutherford’s – where homeowners pay a hefty $11,800 a year in property taxes.

Carlstadt now has the lowest property taxes in South Bergen at $6,908 followed by East Rutherford whose taxes have risen to $7,155.

Homeowners in neighboring Lyndhurst pay some $600 a year less than North Arlington residents and Little Ferry and Wallington homeowners pay nearly $500 less a year than NA homeowners.

North Arlington used to be known for its safe and affordable character, but that seems to be changing under the all Republican, Pronti Administration. Now NA has become urbanized, gentrified and costly to many longtime residents!

With all the development going on in North Arlington, most of which appears to be random and haphazard, we will monitor the tax situation in the borough and try to determine if the GOP’s efforts to build its way to more affordability will work or not.

Will NA end up with lower taxes or just more crowded streets, higher property taxes, especially higher school costs for seniors?
