Suburban or Urban; Which way NA?

North Arlington is being “transformed” from the first suburban community of Bergen County to the last municipality in Hudson County thanks to Republican Mayor Dan Pronti and his GOP followers, Council President Mario Karcic and Councilwoman Donna Bocchino!

This proliferation of multiple apartment dwellings along Ridge Road and the decision to lift height restrictions from three to six stories threatens the very foundation of North Arlington as being small, safe and suburban!

All of these new proposals are increasing traffic, decreasing parking and turning Ridge Road into another Bergenline Avenue!

And will relaxing height restrictions along Ridge Road lead to affordable, low income units versus traditional, market rate housing?

There are even rumors of skyscrapers on Ridge Road and some say the Boston Market property is a target for even more vertical living apartments!

The decision to “urbanize” NA will increase school taxes and force a financial stress on essential services such as police, fire and ambulatory care!

More apartments and tenants along Ridge Road will create a new, “revolving door population” of residents that is not in character with the rest of the community of one and two-family homes.

Seniors will be squeezed out thanks to increased costs to operate the community and a divide between longtime residents and this new wave of out-of-towners is the wrong direction for North Arlington’s future!

Here is a series of images and photos of the volume and density of added traffic that currently exists on Bergenline Avenue in Hudson County versus the “easy access” and suburban environment we currently enjoy on Ridge Road today.

Which do you endorse and support?

Ask yourself, do you really want our local officials to create a “great divide” here in North Arlington with this imposed density and urbanization that will strip away our small town character and charm that was sustained by decades of bipartisan leadership until the election of Dan Pronti; a retired cop and real estate agent?

And how will this explosion of apartment construction impact real estate values on one and two-family homes North Arlington?

Are you happy with all the construction on Ridge Road and what will happen as we see even more apartments moving north towards Lyndhurst?

North Arlington is being changed, and not for the better with absolutely no input from residents and homeowners during this pandemic!

The time to act is now.

Call 991-6060 and tell Dan Pronti enough is enough!

No more “blank checks” for out of town developers who just make money and leave us with a result that flies in the face of what North Arlington is truly all about.

Compare and contrast NA!

Suburban versus urban?

Bergen County versus Hudson County?

A spacious Ridge Road; or a density-ridden Bergenline Avenue?
