NA REPUBLICAN CLUB FUNDS ENTIRE GOP CANDIDATE COMMITTEE

$17,331.72 IN “IN-KIND” CONTRIBUTIONS PAYING FOR CAMPAIGN EXPENDITURES

In a report filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) dated October 26th (see attached report here), the North Arlington Republican Club is completely underwriting the North Arlington municipal campaign for GOP candidates Dan Pronti, Allison Sheedy and Brian Fitzhenry.

According to the 11-day report, $6797.67 was donated for various services in this reporting cycle such as a campaign headquarters on Ridge Road and other expenditures such as political media and other expenditures.

Mr. Pronti replaced the late Joseph Bianchi on the ballot recently and there are four mayoral candidates on the ballot including two independents.

Councilman Mark Yampaglia is the Democratic nominee and is running with former mayor and BCUA Commissioner Peter Massa and retired CFO Josie Papile.

Both Massa and Papile are life-long residents and homeowners. Massa is a retired police officer, former school trustee and councilman as well as an adjunct professor of Criminal Justice.

Papile who is a graduate of NAHS where she served as editor of the Viking Saga is a former newspaper reporter and recently retired as the CFO of Paragon Sports in Manhattan. An avid runner, Josie is married and a college graduate.

All three Democrats oppose the intrusive rolling reassessments while supporting a comprehensive platform that includes the creation of pocket parks, community gardens, a Farmer’s Market, bike and running paths at the Passaic River, PILOT’s (payments in lieu of taxes) for North Arlington for hosting Holy Cross Cemetery while seeking a closer more constructive relationship with our local schools.

Due to the passing of Bianchi, the campaigning has been low-key and somber in deference to the late former mayor.

Candidate Yampaglia had temporarily suspended his effort after Bianchi’s death and for awhile had no GOP opponent until the Court’s decided to insert Councilman Dan Pronti to the ballot.

Yampaglia, a four-term councilman and the son of a retired municipal judge and brother to a current planning board member is a licensed attorney with a practice in Rutherford.

A graduate of NAHS and a former varsity baseball player, Yampaglia graduated from FDU with a BA & MA while earning his law degree from the Touro School of Law while earning membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa.

Yampaglia has been appointed twice to the Borough Council and elected in 2005 while being reelected in 2008, 2011 and 2016. He is the ranking Democrat and senior member of the governing body having served with three mayors.

A fiscal conservative with a track record of opposing property tax hikes, Yampaglia is a former municipal defender and is married to his wife Shirley who is a nurse.

The Yampaglia’s were married at Queen of Peace and are parishioners.
