NORTH ARLINGTON – It was business as usual at the Thursday evening meeting (6/11) of the North Arlington Mayor & Council, as raises for just about everyone employed were generously handed out with $3,830,384.70 spent at this meeting alone!

Council members Donna Bocchino and Amanda DeCicco were both absent.
The question that was avoided is how much property taxes are rising and ironically the Mayor & Council approved a resolution “waiving” the full reading of this spending package and increase!
For how low can you go?
Raises for obscure titles such as “Right to Know” Coordinator for $10,000 was approved without any debate or discussion.
Every raise was approved 4-0.
One position entitled “Indoor Air Quality Standards Officer” now pays $2,000.
A $195,320 retirement package for a single member of the North Arlington Police Department was approved to be made in two payments (7/1/26 & 1/127).
Pronti will now receive $14,073.57 annually as mayor, which is a part-time position. Pronti is a retired cop and full-time real estate sales representative by profession.
All department heads received base pay increases, and $42,000 was appropriated for additional payroll services.
Another $65,000 was expended for engineering services regarding the River Road property purchased last year described as an “emergency” for $1,500,000. 
Mayoral candidate John Balwierczak attended the fiasco. 
“No debate, no discussion or explanation is given on any expenditure. Property taxes are rising and Pronti waives a full reading of the budget while voting himself another raise courtesy of taxpayers. Why wasn’t that information available in that phony newsletter where he plays food critic and has his photo taken a record twenty-three times over 12-pages? Pronti approves $10,000 on a fake newsletter to pimp himself to the public. His arrogance and refusal to even explain the budget is all you need to know on how little respect he has for working families and seniors struggling to live here in North Arlington. I guess explaining anything is above him, like failing to comment on a federal raid of a business where ownership has a history with drugs dating back to 2017,” observed the candidate.
NORTH ARLINGTON “OBLIGATED” TO CONSTRUCT 228 AFFORDABLE UNITS DESPITE PRONTI’S LIES!
“Now we know the lies being spun about affordable housing mandates. Our obligation is not zero. All Pronti did was avoid a builder’s remedy action against North Arlington. The bottom line is that North Arlington is on the hook for 228 affordable units and create overlay zones that would construct 30 units per acre. As usual, Pronti is intentionally lying and avoiding the facts as well as the truth.”
BALWIERCZAK CALLS FOR A DEBATE TO EXPOSE THE TRUTH.
“Maga Mayor Dan Pronti’s record of lies, distortions and avoiding the truth is for all to see. He refuses to acknowledge this year’s property tax hike. He refuses to acknowledge the consequences of rolling tax assessments, his proliferation of apartment construction along Ridge Road, the lie that the water fountain was free when it cost $238,300 to install, the $200,000 out-of-court settlement with a library employee he engineered or his silence on a federal raid on a Belleville Pike retail operation he welcomed to North Arlington with open arms on his mayoral FACEBOOK PAGE two years ago.”
“Let’s have a debate. Let Dan Pronti for once tell us the truth about these issues he continues to ignore, avoid, pivot and duck,” offered the challenger.
