NA VIKINGS UPSET WEEHAWKEN HS, UP RECORD TO 7-6!

Home win reverses previous road defeat before some 200 in attendance

NORTH ARLINGTON – The NAHS Boys Varsity Basketball squad improved to 7-6 with a 60-51 home victory that saw the Vikings get their first league win.  The victory over Weehawken reversed a previous road loss (75-44) to their rivals as the high school basketball season is in full swing after eleven games. North Arlington alumnus John Balwierczak who earned his basketball varsity letter while being named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year as a senior is a 2007 graduate, was accompanied by fellow NAHS graduate John Yampaglia. The team played to a virtual full house and both Balwierczak and Yampaglia got the opportunity to mingle with neighbors and friends and root on with the Viking faithful.“ A home win is always a great thing. The team played hard despite the height disadvantage. It was great to be back at the gym and see the team play so well before our fans,” noted Balwierczak.
